Griz are officially 2 weeks out from kicking off their first spring practice (which will coincide with their Pro Day). Here's the complete schedule of practices and scrimmages. Is it football season yet:

This means we have made it through the black hole doldrums and life is ready to start all over again!

We crawled through the crap that is post-signing day.

Bigger black hole is between the end of Spring ball and the start of fall camp.

Beer, barbecue, baseball in whatever order & intensity you prefer.

To keep this a good football discussion, what are you looking forward to most with Spring Ball?

For me, I want to see how hard Reese Phillips pushes Brady, if Simis can transition to WR, and excited to see what our transfers can do (especially Banks and Davidson)

True dat. Living in an area where there's no snow skiing, there's not a hell of a lot to look forward to during the winter. Summer, OTOH, has a lot!

Ryan
Daum
Sims
Sandry

Really looking forward to seeing all these Montana boys break out.

I really want to find out if we have receivers who are game changers. I want to know that they are not just track stars and have good hands. Can they go get the ball. I want to see a Randy Moss type receiver, multiples of them would be great but just one would be awesome!

I am also interested in the QB battle.

Mostly however, I want to see how defensive changes unfold with our new coordinator. Much to do on that side of the ball.

Connecting the dots from Gregorak to multiple players leaving, I'm anxious to see how this team performs with a unified purpose on the coaching staff and among the players.

I am most looking forward to finding out if the OL can go from losing ground to gaining ground.

I am hoping they can just hold their ground...that will be a major lift...

in just looking at who is coming back and experience, the o/l should dominate with all the new d/l , new linebackers, and new linebacker coach..... that would be the expectation from a coaching perspective, imo.

Basically, our o-line is senior dominated (it's been awhile) with the return of Will Weyer, and the addition of some huge, talented dudes that I would expect at minimum in the 2 deep, in Villanueva and Hart. This line, essentially, was below average as sophomores (and even a true freshmen in Reese), average last year, and now they're all a year older...I would be awfully surprised if they were a weak unit next season. In fact, averaged out, I have high expectations for both our O and D-lines. It's been awhile since one of the lines has not been a big worry for me entering a season. Not to say there isn't debate over who will start, etc, but that's not a bad thing. Should be a good team next year. Probably need another cb for depth, but for me, QB, receivers, and linebackers will be fun to watch shake out.

I want to see two Randy Moss type receivers, a Jerry Rice, maybe a Megatron for the slot. A hybrid Barry Sanders/Walter Payton/Bo Jackson type running back, a couple of Anthony Munoz style tackles, a Lawrence Taylor style OLB, a Ronnie Lott clone at safety and maybe if we are really lucky the second coming of Deion Sanders at boundary corner. Oh and perhaps a Ray Guy robot punter to round out the field.
