It seemed unlikely but was reported by CBS sports in the recap of SDSU vs West Illinois:


"The Jacks were denied a nine-win season for the first time since 1979. More importantly, the loss may have cost the team a high seed in the FCS playoffs and a first-round bye."

They really screwed up their translation of whatever the stat research guy gave them.

SDSU had three 9 win seasons in a row going into this year. That string of 9 win season were the first 9 win seasons they've had since 1979.

That's more like it! I see no reason we shouldn't kick their ass!

Having a pissed off Crittenden back on defense will be huge in shoring up the run game. SDSU can run it (Mo Valley, what do you expect?), so his return might just be huge. Biggest issue on defense right now. Having a healthy defense is going to be huge...

USD is the big run team. SDSU hangs its hat on D. 16.7 points and 365 yards a game allowed in that tough conference; 55-10 win over SUU.

I agree, that's a brutal bracket (#1 and #2 from last season, and a team that handled us this season)...going to be some battle scars in this death match(s)...

I don't follow SDSU, but given history, I would think that team comes into Missoula with a very business-like attitude. I hope Stitt gets the boys ready to play.
I actually like the draw. We get a chance to prove that NDSU wasn't a fluke, a rematch agasint PSU (and if we get that far, I can drive to the game!
