:o :o :o Cats and Griz have to beat Portland State. Griz have to finish third ahead of SAC State. SAC State has to go on road to play NAU and so do the Griz. Griz in Mon 28th Feb. SAC goes this week while Cats and Griz are playing Eastern and PSU. Griz have PSU on Saturday and have three games in five days which is a season. This is going to be a lot of fun. :o :o

This is correct, and verified several times over by me. Where it gets really interesting is if there are ties for 1st between PSU and MSU, and 3rd between SAC and UM. Depending on next week's outcomes, it is possible for the Sac/UM tiebreaker to not be decided by head-to-head records with any other teams (both 1-3 against MSU/PSU and identical head-to-head records with every other team). Who knows what the hell happens in that case!

If head to head, and results against other teams from top to bottom fail,
Then, it is:

RPI. If RPI fails to determine it, then it is a coin flip.

But, last I checked there were no ties between any Big Sky school, so unlikely be any coin flip.

Montana has been second in the conference in RPI for sometime behind PSU.

:o :o It is pretty simple and works out ok if MSU UM NAU win all of their home games. UM does not have to win at NAU maybe :o :o

Griz win 2 out of 3, Griz host first round, at the least. No maybes about it. :D

If Griz win 3 out 3, and Bobcats lose two, Griz will get second and a bye.

Can't think of any way griz can overtake PSU. But, MSU can still overtake PSU.

:o :o Bobcats will win 2 Griz will win 2 and Griz will play NAU in playoff game which is the most fun in Missoula. Do not want to get 2nd or go to Portland no fun. The way it is going to be with two great games this week and one great playoff should be lots of fun. Cats have the test on Thursday but Griz will be fun no matter. :o :o

There are 128 possibilities left. Here are the chances for each team.

PSU: 90.63% 1st, 9.38% 2nd
MSU: 9.38% 1st, 86.72% 2nd, 3.91% 3rd
UM: 3.13% 2nd, 40.63% 3rd, 24.22% 4th, 21.09 5th, 6.25% 6th, 4.69% 7th
SAC: 0.78% 2nd, 39.84% 3rd, 39.84% 4th, 19.53% 5th
WSU: 12.50% 3rd, 28.13% 4th, 50.00% 5th, 9.38% 6th
EWU: 3.13% 3rd, 7.81% 4th, 6.25% 5th, 62.50% 6th
NAU: 3.13% 5th, 21.88% 6th

So PSU has guaranteed a bye. MSU, SAC and WSU are guaranteed a playoff spot. ISU has been eliminated.

How UM can guarantee at least:

2nd: 2 MSU losses and 3 UM wins

3rd:
1) 3 UM wins
2) 2 UM wins and SAC loss
3) 2 UM wins (one against PSU)
4) UM win over PSU along with SAC, WSU losses

4th:
1) 2 UM wins
2) UM win along with WSU, EWU losses
2) UM win over PSU along with WSU loss

UM cannot host a playoff game if they finish 6-8.

How UM does not make the playoffs:

Montana loses out, EWU beats Montana, NAU wins out

To make it more obvious, Montana just loses all three, which will cover all three instances MGR mentioned.

Actually NAU would also have to beat Sacramento State. So if the Griz dropped all 3 and then Sacramento State beat NAU, the Griz would still get in.
