Breunig is 6th in the nation in FG percentage (66.2). Jois is 2d. In conference only, Breunig is 1st (71.1).

Breunig is 42d in nation in double-doubles. He is 39th in nation in scoring (19.6). In conference only, Breunig is 3d in scoring (21.3)

UM is 126th in nation in 3pt percentage (35.7), and 40.9 in conference. Wright is 1st in conference only in 3pt percentage (46.7), but only 33.7% for season. In conference only, Wright is 5th in assist/turnover ratio, but has the 2d most assists. Wright is 3d in minutes played in conference only.

Breunig is shooting 74.7% in free throws, conference only. Wright is 80.4. GFeller 86.7. Lopez is 5-5.

UM is first in conference only 3pt percentage at 40.9. UM is 2d in conf only free throw percentage, at 72.2. 2d in FG percentage at 49.7, conf only.

Can UM keep up its very good shooting percentages in conference play? I suppose Breunig's high percentage brings the overall average up a bit.
 
Well, MB will continue to get his. Looking at the remaining schedule, other than possibly @Weber it should be same 'ol same 'ol for him. Whether that translates into the rest of the team staying hot remains to be seen, but I expect MB to post high FG% numbers.
 
I don't know that MB will have an easy time against Idaho State either, though I don't know anything about how tough they are inside. I just know they are playing well now, and their coach will have them ready to go.
 
Interesting stats......with the fresh legs created by only one game this week I look for all individual and team shooting stats to rise by 1.0276% and minutes per weekend to drop precipitously. Should really payoff coming into the tournament!!
 
True shooting percentage is a newer metric sometimes used to measure a players offensive efficiency. It incorporates regular field goals, along with three pointers and free throws. A percentage above 60 is considered very good. The highest TSP recorded for an NBA season is 70.8%.
My calculations show the conference True Shooting %'s as follows:
Breunig:73.95
Lopez: 68.93
Gfeller: 64.86
Wright: 55.15
Oguine: 53.97

For comparison sake the top two Bobcats are:
Hall: 59.4
Colbert:49.69

This supports the fact that Breunigs numbers are off the charts- he's incredibly efficient on offense. Not bad numbers for all of the Griz top scorers though.

Lopez has been a pleasant surprise. I'd love to see what he could do as strictly a 3/SF role. Amazing he is doing so well while playing out of position.
 
During the Cat game the tv guys made reference to a stat I liked: Oguine averages around 10 as a freshman. LK was under 5. MRR was around 6. You think this Oguine might be good?

Now up to 12.8 in conference play, and 4.6 in rebounding in conference play. 2d on team at 4.6.

I did a quick scan, and didn't find anyone back to the early 70s that has had better numbers, but hard to say if the talent is better simply from the numbers. Jamar actually had the best freshman numbers prior to Oguine. However, bigs like LK who was behind Derrick Pope his freshman year is harder to judge. If Dunn is healthy all this year, would Oguine's numbers be as good?

Now having said that, his talent is undeniable - and compared to freshman that I've seen play I would rank him top 3. Hard to compare guys from different eras also. For example, Marc Glass had a solid freshman year with almost 7 points a game. I remember he was a shooter, but was he a shooter for what is now the 3 point line? If so, that would inflate his numbers in his day.
 
I think it's safe to say Marc Glass would have thrived in the 3-point game! Damn, until you mentioned that I had forgotten we had no 3-point line then. What a different game it was. Giant slugs like Larry McBride and zones so tight you couldn't get in the paint.
