Factoids: Virginia blew out BC on Feb 21, 72-58. Stanford just waxed Virginia in the NIT 65-49.

Factoid the Griz lost to both Weber State and Idaho State. BC is no joke, they played for the ACC Conference Title. I would love to see the Griz win, but if they just keep it close I will still be proud. Keeping it close will still do a great deal for the program and BSC. Nevada was a great win, but Nevada is not even close to being in the same league as Boston College. Pacific almost beat them, which means they're going to be looking to blow somebody out. Go Griz! Celebrate! Don't get carried away!

It's not like the Griz and fans think they're the #1 seed now. They know they have to "bring" it and they're still underdogs, but if they can bring a little bit of the #1 attitude and intesity with them... well, good things can happen.

They were ranked around 17 in RPI according to realtimerpi.com (just under Florida), #22 in RPI according to teamrankings.com, #20 in the AP poll, and #21 in the coaches poll. They have one of the best posts in the country (picked to be 2nd team all-american by espn). They've also beat Kansas...on the road and beat other good teams as well like Pacific & Akron...they won the WAC Tournament (A Major Conference) by beating Utah State (in the NCAA Tournament also)...and they are a "Average" team? I guess the only good teams are Duke, Ucon, Villanova and NC right?
As for the National Championship comment...The Griz win against Nevada got more publicity than the National Championship
And to me (of course I'm probably one of a very few people who think this way) was more exciting than the national championship & a bigger win Did you see what was the feature story on the front page of ESPN.com's college basketball section for most of yesterday? It was a picture of Coach K and the Griz with the story of them beating Nevada! Also this is the first win for the Griz in the NCAA Tournament in over 30 years.... More rare than a national champinionship in football
