MSU averaged 218 ypg rushing. We held them to 190
MSU's D averaged 212.3 ypg passing Defense. We put up 353 on them
We averages more yards per attempt, more yards per completion, and had more passing TD's
Montana went into the game just 79.1% in the red zone. Today? 6 for 6
We won the turnover battle 2-1
We won the sack battle 2-1
We had fewer penalties (although there were a LOT called) for fewer yards
We won the 3rd down conversion battle 9/20 vs 7/16
More importantly: We won the 4th down conversion battle 1/1 vs 0/3
We were a perfect 4/4 FG's (including a season long 44 yarder by Sully)
We forced more fumbles (3 to 0)

And the real kicker? Our kicker kicked off ELEVEN times. RARELY will you lose a game where your kicker gets the opportunity to kick off 11 times.

'Scats can console themselves with the fact that they DID punt the ball better today than the Griz. But our punter is a better actor. :thumb: :D

Bobcat fans like to bash UM's liberal arts programs, but the acting classes are obviously paying off!

Big play in the game for the Griz.

Bigger play was their punter muffing the snap deep in their end of the field.

Or 'Scats getting called for a personal foul right after we'd just gotten a penalty and it went from 1st & 25 back to 1st and 10.

Great Post!!
Someone tell that Alfalfa bitch or whatever her name is -I like to call her Stu- these stats. GO GRIZ!!!

Ash's self=reverence for his "go for it" offense really blew up on him. Two fourth down turnovers, both giving the Griz excellent field position, and both converted to touchdowns. You read what he was quoted in the Missoulian, below, and you wonder, did he consider the quality of the defenses he has played against, and assumed that UM was just another defense? The guy's opinions and attitudes continue to baffle me, and apparently most Wombat fans as well.

"That's how we always play," said Bobcats coach Rob Ash. "That's how you win games, especially if you think the game's going to be a high-scoring game, which we thought it would be today. We had to steal some possessions. We're usually very good on fourth down, been very good all year."

"That's how we always play."

He seems to still think that's a "feature."

That's how they play because it pretty much doesn't matter where the other team gets the ball on the field, they're going to score. So he HAS to try and score almost every possession, no matter the position on the field.
