This is an information-filled article, has more info than just safeties, and is well-worth reading. Best article I've seen in a while.

Great article and it's spot on, safeties suddenly looks like a very deep and talented group. Dallaserra started coming on in spring ball and with Whitted's health issue we may see a ton of him this season, he's a hard hitting enforcer type.

While last week the juco safety was still learning the ropes, Anderson really did stand out to me because of his smarts in pass coverage. I see the article mentioned he leads the defense in turnovers this fall camp. He could be a guy that helps come in as a 5th or 6th DB in pass coverage sets.

At this point in the season we (fans) always are upset because of injury, grades, quits, player problems, backups, etc. On and on it goes yet we get over it and end up playing new kids each and every year in new positions and none of them fall over and die.

Looking at the fans from a players eyeball it is almost beyond funny.

The Line can't block. The QB can't throw. The defense leaks. The Tight ends are gone. The defense needs four more linemen to rest the starters. Our RBs are small, slow and prone to injury. Our LBs are brand new so they can't tackle. Our punter is slow and will have a punt blocked. Our kickers smoke weed and are distracted by cute girls. The coaches are lazy and drink to much. Safeties are really good this year and without them we are sunk? I forgot many items such as the players parents.

In the "look at the team as a whole" I see a decent looking outfit. Luck and good play could put us at the top of the Big Sky. We will have more injury problems and key players will be out for a game or so but at the end of the year we will be right at the top.

Count on it!

What happened to Zach Gratton?

Think he had to give it up due to lingering concussion issues. Recall that he had a bad one last season that caused him to miss 4 or 5 weeks. Think the decision was made during the summer. Too bad. Was a very good special teams player and would have provided depth. Great kid. I'm pretty sure I'm right on this, but don't bet the ranch on it.

Thanks PR. That sucks for Gratton. Hope he's able to make a full recovery and not have any lingering issues.
