Yes. He’s not returning next year. I think Cats defense will be good next year with a slight step down that I’ll consider the Troy hole, but we have two young linebackers who got good playing time and should be good to fill in as well as a starter who was out all year D-line loses 3 of the “starters” but played 10 guys regularly this year who all contributed fairly equally imo. I hope we get to keep our defensive coordinator but like ESPN said on Saturday he’s likely going to move up and quickly.
Receiver will be my biggest concern but we also have two commits at receiver that I think can contribute next year, with the 3 star recruit and Dowler from West. Jaden Smith is my hope for stepping in and be the “f- it toss it up and see if he catches it” that 86 was all year for us. Cats will be comparable imo. But who knows ! That’s the wonder of college football

That D is losing the vast majority of its difference makers. Anderson/Williams/Hardy/Benson all gone. They aren't going to be anywhere close to the same stratosphere defensively. But their O should be considerably better, with more development from their youngish OL; Ifanse coming back for one last hurrah; and a full offseason with Mellott as the QB. McCutcheon is gone, but he's less important when the QB isn't McKay. We'll have a much better idea of what Vigen can do when he doesn't have that really good defense that Choate built anymore.

If Ifanse is healthy I wouldn't be surprised to see him hit the portal. I'm saying that to stir up the 126 Bobcat supporters who are on this site or even the 18 fans on BCN. I just think we will see more "nothing left to prove at this level" moves like Toure last year. I could both Malik Flowers and Alex Gubner doing this, though damn I really hope not.

What do you make of Troy Taylor? Brought Sac back to relevance, but always dominated in the playoffs… I just don’t get it. Yes this year wasn’t their toughest schedule but 2019 they were still damn good too.

Deion’s team wouldn’t be in the top 5 MVFC or BSC… Entz always has a good squad. KC won a title and had a 22 game win streak. Vigen was given the keys to a Cadillac… Troy always gets beat in the playoffs.

Listen to Colter's podcast that loaded today, he discusses the depth in the program on D & who we lose vs what's on the shelf. Lots of depth - Daniel Hardy is a senior, but no one on this board even knew who he was last year. I've been concerned for the last 3 years about what we're losing on D, but they've become better and better despite the losses. Choate recruited studs & I like our D for next year. Need depth on the O line (always, always, always) but we lost our two best lineman this season - one who transferred and started at Mizzu, that hurt more than the qb issue did. We need Touchdown Tommy to develop, need a quality backup. Someone mentioned Ifanse should go into the portal, there's a better chance Robby H would transfer - he already did once!
