Is this season going to be a sneak peek at the Griz' future for the next ten years, or is this merely one rough season that every program has to go through every now and then?

Granted, after today, a lot of you I'm sure are thinking it is the former.

And you'll probably never watch a Griz team play again because all you care about is looking good because you're the fan of a winning team.

I would like to say that it is a new coaching staff and that it is a 1 year deal, and it looks somewhat familar to Pflu's first year except for that no one was complaining about the D coordinator back then, BUT, this is not a permanent coaching staff so if the next staff that comes in has to have training wheels on too then this could be familar for 3 to 4 years, god I hope not.

If Coach D and company stay for next season yes long next 3 or 4 years. IF UM goes after say Johnathan Smith I think this team turns around quickly. Who transfers after this season if Coach D stays? Why would Brent Kirshner stay when he rides the pine? Heck why would Adam B stay at QB if he only walks the side lines. If coach D sticks around its going to be very ugly.

I see this as maybe a two year thing, crossing my fingers and hoping its only a one time deal, but every team deals with this and unfortunately it had to happen this year, well have a good year in the near future just not this season

I agree with you flangtango. I see this as a two year hiccup. There are going to be players leaving, recruits we should get but wont, players having to deal with a new coach. But, this is the U of M and there are plenty of talented kids playing ball across the state in high school now.

Let me guess, you want either Hauck back, who was part of the reason this team nearly got destroyed by an NCAA ruling, or Van Diest, who is never going to even consider leaving Carroll.

News flash, Van Diest just about left Carroll this last spring.

Dude read my post I said Johnathan Smith as coach. No mention from me on Hauck or Van Diest. Hauck made his decision to leave. Would consider Van Diest if he had interest. At least these two showed they can coach and win. Coach D not so much.

BKross is a troll.

Answer your thread or GTFO.

WTF does this have to do w Hauck? Absolutely nothing.

And how was this "team nearly destroyed by an NCAA ruling..."?

#/thread fail

Not quite getting your love affair with Smith... I'd trash this offense in a wink.

I don't think the QB coach for Boise State is paid $450,000 a yearor nor is he ready to be a head coach.

This isn't a 10 year problem, but it's probably one that lasts through the tenure of this coaching staff plus at least the first year of the next staff, which will be a true learning year.

It could last a few more years if Royce "Griz slayer" Engstrom chooses poorly. He's not doing so well so far.
