i'd be hot if I just paid a grand and didn't get my money back. you had to kind of figure the league was going to flop in montana though, considering what a ticket to watch a game was gonna set you back.

Well no one is happier that this league folded than Hockey/skating-enthusiasts in Great Falls. The 4 Seasons did not plan to have any ice this year, so they could have a 5th-rate basketball team, and turn their backs on 30+ years of hockey in Great Falls. Now that this pathetic league folded before it even started (real shocker), they decided they better put ice in so they can make a few $ this year. Great Falls new hockey arena should be ready by next year so hockey-enthusiasts can return the favor and turn their backs on the 4 Seasons for good.

Maybe look at the IBL...we had a franchise in Battle Creek last year and they filled it with mostly guys from WMU plus Kenyon Murray from Iowa but they went 21-0 and got the title. I know they have a Vancouver franchise. The teams pretty much play only their division with the exception of one little road trip and they like to go with former high school/local college stars. They have a shorter shot clock so it makes the game a faster pace and higher scoring. It was good basketball for a low price.

I was hoping it would last for at least a couple of years. Didn't expect it to go tits up already! I was going to referee some games, and looked forward to the opportunity. As for the players paying the 1K to try out, that's unfortunate. I worked some of those games in Billings and stuck around for the first few rounds of the "draft." Many of the players selected were from other leagues. I'm not sure how many AAPBL players were selected anyway?? :lame:
