Sneed - POTW 3rd Week in a Row

He is well deserving. He is exceptional. But I would like to see an offensive line (as a group) get national attention in awards like this . Especially when you throw for almost 400 yards and run for almost 200 yards. I know it is not going to happen but you don't have dominant balanced offensive stats like that unless you have a dominant offensive line. Where they as a group have come in a year is the biggest story of this season. The Griz can put people away with a running game now. They can control the line of scrimmage and give the defense rest and keep them fresh.

And it’s been said for months that we’d go just as far as the O-line took us this year....which appears to be further each and every week... :thumb:

The O-line tends to wear defences down. In the first half against ISU we were 21 carries for 84 yards (which isn't great, since 54 of those were by Sneed) but like Novacaine it takes time but it works. (stole that from Denzel)

When is the last time a BSC football player won the award three weeks in a row?

Including Sneed? If you are, I know the answer to this one.

He's the only football player that I can find that won 3 weeks in a row...so, I think you got it right

Well according to a tweet I saw EWU’s Gubrud won it 3 in a row in 2017....I’m too lazy to go check.

Last year how many times did Dante win it in a row? Thought it was 3 also, could be wrong.

Per BSC web site article.... Doesn’t say that Gubrud was consecutive or that someone other than a an has....

Sneed is the first quarterback to earn a trio of conference offensive honors in one season since Eastern Washington’s Gage Gubrud in 2017.

He won it three times, but not in a row. from Go griz article

Sneed now becomes the first Grizzly to ever win three consecutive Big Sky Player of the Week honors and is the first player to earn three weekly honors from the league since Dante Olson did it in 2018. Sneed is also the first UM quarterback to win three weekly honors in a single season since John Edwards in 2002. He is the first QB in the Big Sky to earn three weekly honors since Eastern Washington's Gage Gubrud did it in 2017.

When is this guy going to be on the Walter Peyton Watch list? He keeps this up there is no way he should not be in the conversation.

Should have been on the preseason Watch List. He'll be on the one when it's updated and imho, he'll be a finalist unless something drastically changes.

I think Big Sky offensive MVP is already down to a two-man race between Sneed and Cookus.

That’s where I read it about Gubrud....except I read it wrong, apparently. He won three, but not in a row...

According to Gogola, Gubrud won it 3 on a row:

I don't think he's right. Gubrud won it the week of Sept. 10, 2018 and the week of October 8, 2018. So it wasn't 3 consecutive.

the only time I can find that he won it in 2017 is in September

Oh, and then there's this
https://www.spokesman.com/stories/2017/nov/07/police-report-eastern-washington-quarterback-gage-/

and then there's this:
https://skylinesportsmt.com/montanas-sneed-wins-big-sky-award-for-third-straight-week/

but there isn't any reference to what weeks he won....so, I give up.

okay, so I didn't give up...Gogola's right...I'm wrong...the world didn't end...

https://skylinesportsmt.com/gubrud-earns-third-straight-weekly-award-strong-earns-national-recognition/

it is kind of fucked that Dalton can't earn a 4th straight award because of the bye because then he would be all by himself...I'm stubborn if none too bright :D

Their numbers really aren’t close. And Sneed’s rushing prowess negates any slight advantage Cookus might have with the few extra TD passes....not to mention 3-3 vs 5-1....

I would say Sneed is clearly in the lead at this point.

God, I would hope Sneed is in the lead. A lot of football left to be played so maybe things change by the time they vote. I've only watched two games that Cookus has played in and he was okay but not spectacular...Sneed has been awesome. If I had to choose one or the other to carry a team, it would be Sneed without any question. At this point in the season, I agree with AZ: it's really not close.
