that Kenny "the Snake" Stabler died yesterday. Being a lefty myself, I was always a fan of Stabler (except when he played a team I cared about, of course).

I was never a Raider fan (just Stabler), but I know this will hit "Raider Nation" hard. My condolences.

It was good to see Stabler finally admit that he fumbled the ball forward on purpose during the "holy roller" play. What a crock that play was. But he was a great Raider QB. RIP Snake......

Ken Stabler was an American Icon, he symbolized the flash and glamour of being a super star QB. Having lived in the Bay area some 35 years ago and I can remember watching him on television tearing defenses apart with precision. Yes, he was flashy and sometimes embodied arrogance, but so did Joe Namath. Fur coats, hot women, booze and money... reminds us of our former selves I'm sure. R.I.P. Snake!

he had an excellent receiving core in cliff branch, fred biletnikoff and dave casper....loved watching those guys play even though i was and still am a 49er fan.....default...place of birth.

He will make the Drinkers Hall of Fame. Can you imagine partying with the 1977 Raiders?

Ted Hendricks, John Matuszak, Stabler. . .

Sweet Jesus!

I'd like to see "the tooz" party with PR. Can you
Imagine if Lyle was there too? Somebody's head would've gotten popped like a zit.... and it wouldn't be a Raider's....

In his prime, a coked up 6' 7" Tooz would have thrown both of them through the wall like hand darts for wasting his time on that nonsense. . .

Great point. Tooz's coke and Alzado's 'roids would've been a difficult combo to beat...

There were some great QB's in the AFC in that era. Stabler, Bradshaw, Pastorini ect....
