Small Proposal: Look Ahead, Not Back

I know this is well-high hopeless, but ...

Multiple threads have ranted, debated, etc. Saturday's game: "We played poorly (pick a team)," and so on and so forth.

While it's true that NoCol is not very good ... "on any given Saturday" ... especially if the so-called better team has a let-down. Will they? There's something to discuss -- looking ahead.

We have a bunch of already-important Big Sky games to look ahead to. How about NAU hosting Cal Poly? Will they bounce back, or not, after an ugly road loss?

Has anyone else noticed that NAU has a wimp-ass schedule that does not include either UM or MSU? What's up with that? Yes, they play EWU (at home), but they also get to feast on NoCol, Weber, UC-Davis, and UND. If they can't be in the hunt with that schedule, maybe they should fire their coach.

Good idea. However, I just can't get excited about this time because the coach has never had a signature win--whatever that is. Actually, I have hard time getting excited about Griz football because they don't win national championships every year. I'd support going the Mountain West conference, tho.

Don't the Griz play 3 of those 4 whimp- ass teams that you just mentioned? Plus Weber St. could be on the upswing. I am not really following the point that you're trying to make. And not playing NAU might be a bonus too....

Fair enough. Just tossed out the NAU notions so as to look ahead at the future schedule, rather than ... well, you know.

Not sure how you intuit that Weber might be on an upswing, since they have yet to win a game. I know ... they had two killer games (FBS and NDSU), but they didn't look all that great in their other two games either.

Weber "could" be on an upswing. Many on egriz were commenting on their " holding their own" performance against NDSU. Or at least trashing NDSU for not killing them. Who knows what Weber really amounts to this season?

Okay, I see where you're coming from.

Should be interesting -- in a gruesome kind of way :silly: -- next weekend when Weber is at So Utah, since both are 0-4. ;)

Not a game I would care to see, even if it was available somewhere. :D

There are now 27 games under this staff's belt. Twenty-fricken-seven. Which one do you think was the best win? Pretty simple question but most try to skate around it for some reason.

Who cares what the best win was? It doesn't matter. Last season, at 10-2 in regular season with a 7 point playoff loss to CC, was a very nice season. The prior year without JJ was difficult, and the team couldn't win the close ones. This season's close losses to Wyo. and NDSU are positive, and the team seems to be fairly healthy and improving. It should be a fun season. If you can't get over cheering for a team without a signature win, that's your problem. Please don't both the rest of us with you problem.

THIS! We need to take a step back and look at the whole. We went 10 and 2 last regular season. 10 WINS and 2 LOSSES. I would always rather go 10 and 2 than go 2 and 10 with one of those wins being against Wyo or NDSU. Overall, this team has done well and played hard against other teams that ultimately ended up winning.

So have you finally decided to make a prediction on how the season will play out for the Cats and griz? I know you weren't willing to make a prediction until they played some games. So obviously you're happy with how the griz have done do far so let's hear it. What will the regular season records be for Cats and griz?
