You did call it. I was wrong. I didn’t think he would give up that year of eligibility since he already signed his National Letter of Intent to play for the Griz. Yes, Bummer for sure!

No worries, I just had this weird feeling that that’s where he wanted to go play. I’m not even sure he will lose a year of eligibility....sounds like signing these letters of intent doesn’t hold much weight anymore

Does he actually "lose" a year, or can't play for a year ......when he will redshirt there anyway no biggie to him? Wonder where he will end up in about two years after bring a practice dummy on the meat squad?

In this article he says he never really signed with Griz since it was a walk on offer, so I am assuming there will be no repercussions:

Bummed for the Griz but it's a great choice for him - can't be mad at the kid for choosing UW over us.

His size is marginal and his arm looks average, but his speed and athleticism are exceptional. That said, a walk on offer at UW beats a walk on offer at Montana every day in my book. I assumed he had received some scholarship money here. With equal offers It's probably worth the chance for him to make the switch. I do believe he has the tools to impact this level if the throwing improves a bit. Not sure he will impact the Pac-12. Wish him all the best. Won't be surprised if he's back here in a few years.

Walk on offers from both not necessarily equal. In state vs. out of state tuition is big. But he's kind of a dual residency kid, so maybe not an issue.

Unless a kid is choosing a school for the school, and not football, I would think kids would also want to consider where they have a good or decent chance to play. Who wants to be third team. Of course, kids seem to transfer and transfer down more now. Going for it at a big school would be fun too. Obviously, his decision. I wish him well.

He had a chance to play here. I think it’s a huge (almost impossible) uphill battle there just look at his 4 star cousin so that’s unfortunate but can’t fault him for taking his shot. We did bring in a legit QB for this class so we are more than fine, and might not be the last we hear from Sirmon if things don’t work out at UW.

Its the word "commit" I have a problem with, I don't care where he goes but if you commit then you do.
Old school thought.

Might be different if we had been able to give him a scholarship...

Seems that the Griz didn't really commit to him either.
