Seven Foot Freshman

I know we are all excited to see the next great Griz big man when our new 7-foot Aussie shows up next year. I just came across this article regarding 7-foot TWINS that will be attending Stanford next fall - imagine how excited they must be!

I would love to see another GRIZ/tree rematch in the next couple of years to see the big guys match up!

(and I apologize that this isn't remotely Griz related - I was just intrigued by the thought of 7-foot twins manning the posts).

whats with stanford and twins? anyone else jump on this bandwagon yet or do they have it locked down?

To who was saying they wouldn't mind another griz/tree matchup. Problem is... Stanford will not make that mistake again. That game was a lose lose situation for them. And now that Montana has proven itself to be good. There is no way that they will get another shot at the "big shots". Because they are scared. I don't see the griz becoming a Gonzaga type just cuz of this.

Gonzaga became Gonzaga by beating "big shots" at their places. So you're right: If we try to schedule a bunch of Stanfords for our home games, we're going to have a few empty slots.

And I beleive Stanford get's UM in maples next year, per the away home away deal...might be wrong.

BTW
This is the second set of 7-0 twin towers, for Stanford in the last 4 or so years. They also had the Collins twins a couple years back. I believe both Collins twins are currently in the NBA.

I may also be wrong, but I thought this winter's game was the second game in the home-and-home, with the first game being Pat Kennedy's team's defeat of Stanford in Palo Alto a few years back (?) I would love it if we get another shot at Stanford. If not Stanford, Jim should look at scheduling at least on Pac 10 team every year. It's a real nice barometer of where the Griz are at talent-wise.

Mung,

I just read your message again and I see that this may be a home-away-home series, so I stand corrected.

I realize that but is that all you know about them? I have never heard of them...

You honestly have never heard of the Collins twins? Do you ever watch basketball? Jason Collins currently plays for the Nets and Jarron for the Jazz. They were both McDonald's All-Americans in high school and were both All-Pac 10 while at Stanford in the late 90's early 00's

Know who Jason is, but not Jarron

It's always exciting having a 7 footer on the roster, but it's no gaurantee. Colorado State has three on their roster this year and they are currently in 8th place in the Mountain West.
