CHICAGO - Glendive's Derek Selvig has been selected as the Gatorade 2006-07 Montana Boys Basketball Player of the Year.
The 6-foot-10 Selvig averaged 21 points and 10 rebounds this season, leading the Red Devils to a 21-3 record and the Eastern A championship.
Selvig scored 38 points and grabbed 11 rebounds in the final game of his prep career, an overtime win over Hardin in the third-place game of the State A tournament.
