Selvig Out

ARGH, this coupled with Hutchison battling some injury. Exactly why we should have recruited one more big body the past 2 years. If the injuries are too bad with Selvig and Hutchison, I guess this will mean Qvale really having to step up big time, more time for Ward, McGillis at the 4, more time for Young and Staudacher at 3, etc.

I hope this injury is a short one, if it is long, we will be extremely small up front other than Qvale. This injury in my opinion, takes us from title contender to a .500 club.

I am afraid you may be right about the .500 club part. We essentially have 2 post players for the forseeable future. McGillis will have to be the third. This morning's Missoulian says Hutchison is out indefinetely. Banny is also hurt as is Taylor. Neither will play tonight. :(

this is our second major loss. the first was thurman woods. that kid could have come in and contributed as a freshman, and he would have addressed what is always always always the major issue with men's basketball--our lack of athleticism.

i think selvig needs another year to grow into his body. could he get a medical redshirt in addition to the redshirt year he's already taken?

According to the Missoulain today. Selvig is out for at least a month, Banny is like wise gone for a similiar time with an MCL injury, Eric Hutchison is out indefinitely with his foot injury, and then Micheal Taylor is out for tonights Exhibition game with a shoulder injury, but he is due back shortly. That leaves the Griz with 8 scholarship players tonight.

I tell you what I really beleive the men's game need to go back to 15 scholarships like the women.

OW, with the injuries the way they are , I am lowering expectations from 12-4 conference record to 8-8. Qvale, Ward, and our Guards will have to play lights out, and be expected to crash the boards now too.

It looks as if this could be the year where Tinkle may get the opportunity to exceed expectations if these injuries linger on into the conference season. We are a 12-4 or 13-3 conference team with good health. Lucky to be 8-8 conference team with injuries to Selvig and Hutchison.

Good luck GRIZ!!!!!!!!!

Then again, the positive is, we have AJ (knocking on wood). Talk about a chance for someone's stock to rise.

Banny played 21 minutes today with 4 steals and 6 rebounds. So, if Banny is going to be out a similar time as Selvig than Selvig should be back sooner than you think.
