Front page of the sports section. I've never been more proud of him.

Just saw the article in my email version of the Times and popped over here to see if the article was posted. Definitely worth the time to read.

Terrific read. Amazing how well he did on the court and barely being able to see. I am happy for him and Shaunte, and wish them the best. I wonder what GRIZ NATION can do for him to let him know GRIZ NATION is family for him?

It is amazing how childhood issues can impact a person for life. No matter what a person does, those ghosts always linger, and play a bigger role at times than they should .

That was a good article. Thanks for calling it to our attention. A reminder that many people don't have childhoods and grow up like many of us do. My wife, as an elementary school teacher, sees alot of kids with tough family situations.

Awesome read about one terrific couple and their son making the most of an horrific upbringing. Nothing but the best to AJ, Shaunte, and that young boy. You will forever have Griz Nation's back.

as an avid griz fan, I've read thousands of words about a.j., both during and since his days at montana, but i never knew the details of his childhood. just heartbreaking that that one beating probably ruined an even more promising basketball career.

one of the saddest things about child abuse is that it's often passed down to the next generation, but a.j. and shaunte will certainly break that cycle.

A terrific article about a terrific kid. What a testament to sheer will and determination. If the scales of life do ultimately balance, Anthony Johnson is certain to have a bright, loving and prosperous future. Here is wishing him all the best.
