It'd be nice if the griz could get away with anything. Giantfarte probably out here paying refs off. He is a cat fan. And he is the 2nd richest person in Congress. Wouldn't be surprised. Refs seem to always have it out for the griz.

I was pretty surprised we didn’t challenge their secondary down field really at all. It’s really the one weakness that team had and we didn’t try it at all really.
I thought I'd read that their weakness was short underneath stuff...and we did a lot of that. If our receivers hadn't dropped 4/5 easy catches might have made a difference.

Gianforte is also the richest Governor in Montana right now. And hasn't been in Congress for 3 years.
He's a great governor, although he did not have strong acts to follow. He's given tax rebates and lowered the state income tax rate rather than directing the surplus to pork.Griz Addict said:mthoopsfan said:Gianforte is also the richest Governor in Montana right now. Okay used to be. Either way he's extremely wealthy and doesn't care for the griz. His showing at the championship game was purely for publicity. And he's a douche.

A lot of yards against SDSU this season were gained after the Jacks opened up leads of a couple scores and the Jacks D basically conceded underneath stuff, letting the opponent dink and dunk their way down the field chewing up clock.
The Griz did move the ball very well in the first half but couldn't put up points. But a lot of that success was on quick throws and lot of misdirection that your coaches seemed to abandon early in the second half. I was surprised but maybe something looked different than the coaching staff. I wouldn't think a 14-3 lead halfway through the 3rd would change a philosophy much.

Yeah that rebate and tax rate totally offset the property taxes.![]()

"The property tax rebate claim period for tax year 2022 has closed. We will begin accepting claims for the rebate for tax year 2023 on August 15, 2024 and all claims must be filed by October 1, 2024. The Property Tax Rebate is a rebate of up to $675 per year of property taxes paid on a principal residence."

Every fan thinks the refs have it out for their team. On our board, I suggested about half way through the season that the MVFC had issued a "flag only the Jacks" memo after a run of ridiculous games where it seemed like the Jacks were flagged at a 3-1 or 4-1 clip over the opponents.
My seatmates were constantly shouting at the refs to throw flags on the Griz for holding, facemasks, PI, etc., that never came. I personally prefer no calls to a game where there's laundry all over the field, disrupting flow. One can always argue butterfly effect but there was no obvious game changing call here.

Gubby got away with a face mask on the first drive. The Jacks had a couple callable holds and a PI. On the whole those officials were WAY better that what we are used to the #BSC.

I just re-watched the game last night while working but noted the aforementioned facemask. On the ensuing long kickoff return, a Jack was sandwiched between two Griz, with the Griz behind him wrapping his arms around the Jack's waist. On the sweep in the second half where your speedy guy seemingly left two Jacks in the dust, the second was helped to the ground by a push from I believe, your number 6. Then there were the many attempts by gangs of Griz trying to throw Jack return team members on top of punts. I'm not pointing all this out to make some kind of point that the Jacks got jobbed by the refs. A Griz watching the game saw plenty of crap that could have been called on the Jacks, too. Hell, Mason McCormick is about an inch away from a PI on dang near every play (usually after the whistle). There's a lot that goes on in a football game that could be flagged but nothing occurred in Frisco on Sunday that affected the outcome of the game and nothing overly egregious. I prefer the refs keep the laundry in their pockets and let them play.

There were 2 pretty bad PI’s that should have been called on SDSU. Both hurt the Griz. One or both 3d down. I am fine if refs call those evenly. The problem was UM didn’t have any early or aggressive plays that could have been let go. 1 Griz fumble was a killer. The other hurt. Not getting points early hurt. That was great D by SDSU. The game would have been more interesting if the Griz had scored TD on first drive of 2d half. SDSU was obviously very good and very good qb had a very good game.

2 plays killed us. Not scoring on that first drive with 4th and .5 yards to go...and fumbling the opening possession of the 2nd half. Scoring on either of those would have made all the difference, IMHO.
