Crane should be there today lifting all the poles onto the bases. Head guy there says all poles should be installed by Friday afternoon, but I think only one side is being guaranteed to be lit up for the scrimmage. Lots of connections and testing to be done in between Friday and scrimmage day.

Part of me hopes this will happen. I would even like to be there to start a chant "Fire Engstrom", but I think I will take a chapter out of Mr. O'day's book and play the class card. He is who we should attempt to emulate.

The result could hinge on how much alcohol has been consumed by the crowd.

Well, if I don't see ONE bubble screen... three straight underthrown jump ball passes from JJ... and six straight three-and-outs, I'll be high fiving Engstrom. I just hope the Griz start the scrimmage with that "three QB, fake end around, double screen flea flicker" that we did last season. If we perfect that play, we're winning the chipper boys!

It is getting more and more difficult to distinguish some Griz fans from some Cat fans on this board. It seems to me that the Griz scrimmage is an event to support the Montana Grizzlys, players and coaches, that currently represent the University of Montana.

If some of you have such disdain and dislike of the program why are you Griz fans? It seems to me that you could find another outlet for your sports fix that left you feeling better and less bitter. Your percieved cleanup of this thug filled, out of control bunch of criminals that represent themselves as a football team has begun. Relax, join in a group hug with each other and rest in the knowledge that the Griz Godfather and his highest Lieutenant are gone. You have to be the BIGGEST hypocrite on this board. In another thread you reference O'Day presiding over the longest crime streak in college sports history or something to that effect. If that's the case, you believe crimes have been taking place for years? Maybe so, I don't disagree with the fact things have been happening for years (Donaldson, Montelius, etc). So, did you go to football games this past year? The year before that? Why are you boycotting now?

But now that Engstrom makes a drastic move that quite a few people disagree with, you jump at the chance to go against the grain and try to piss people off. Where have you been all this time on this issue? Where are your "Fire O'Day and Pflugrad" threads from before Engstrom's decision? You were talking football like the rest of us.

I got rid of my season tickets in 2007 because of Hauck and the brutal thug brigade he integrated on JODs watch. I sent JOD a few emails and told him why there would be no more money coming in from me until he fixed the problem and of course he looked the other way and ultimately he got fired because of his on the job behavior. I make it a point to go to more away games so the opposing team gets the money. Tennessee, Idaho State and Northern Az got my money last last year.

I havent donated any money to UM since then and now that Engstrom has stood up to the status quo and shown he is the leader that is willing to do the right thing and turn this prison around.....I am considering going back to my charitable ways.

Now I totally expect you criminal supporting morons to deflect the real point of this thread and start in on the personal attacks, comments on my "donations" and bandwagon actions. Swing away, but remember it doesnt matter because I just consider the source.............a bunch of fans willing to let rape happen so they can make a deep playoff run and murder if it brings us a NC.

I'll give Alpha props. He has stayed the course. I remember him saying all those things above before all this happened. Most of the Griz fans I work with agree with the decision? How come 90% on Egriz disagree with the decision? Football is not above sexual assaults/rape. I don't care how nice Phugrad/Oday were, nothing was being done. (Phugrads comment when JJ came back was SHOCKING to me regardless if he had been charged or not). JJ should have been demoted temporarily and ran his butt off for bringing another alleged sex assault charge onto the Griz program again (student conduct rule).

I also think booing Engstrom would be counter productive. If he remains in his position, why would he continue making football a priority, if he were booed off the field? No need to give the man any reason to even consider penalizing the football team, which we all love. Booing accomplishes nothing, but make the situation worse. Just not a very good idea.

Show up to support the remaining players, and coaches. Stay home if you plan to boo Engstrom. This, and every event forward through football season, needs to be dedicated to the support of our players, and coaches. Show some class, please.
