Don't know much about them. I see that they are 6-6 and just got clobbered by Portland. What do you know about 'em?

I know ISU has the 4th best RPI rating in the league with a ranking of 246 as of Jan 3, 2005.

Lost to Southern Utah twice. Southern Utah is ranked 184 in RPI.
Lost to Portland that has an rpi of 78 by 9 points.
Lost big to Oregon which is the best ISU played.

Beat Boise State which isn't very good.
Lost to Eastern Illinois which is comparable to ISU in RPI ranking.

The game against ISU will still be tough for the Griz irregardless of any kind of ranking.

ISU played Portland twice.

The first time was:

Dec 6 Portland L 73-82

The second time it was:

Jan 2 @ Portland L 35-67

If the ISU sports page doesn't show both games than collegerpi.com is bad.

Yeah, they played Portland twice. The first time in Pocatello and then at Portland the second game.

Idaho State was a good team last year, but lost Marquis Poole who accounted for about 40 points/game (points and assists). David Schroeder was their promising hometown kid. He was named Big Sky player of the week at the end of November and was averaging about 20 points/game. Unfortunately he tore a ligament in his knee and will miss the rest of this season. Same thing happened last year, only in the other knee.

Jeff Gardner and Slim Millien are their two scorers, both averaging in double digits. Both are JC players, Gardner from Snow College at 6'2" 165lbs, and Millien from Trinidad (NY) at 6'7" 195lbs.

Gardner has 110 shots this year, 85 from the 3-point line. He's a pure shooter who doesn't score off the dribble, but averages 5.5 assists/game. He averages almost 4 turnovers a game though.

Millien starts and appears to do well for them, but only gets about 20 minutes/game. He's their leading rebounder and scorer. At 6'7" our big guys might be able to affect his shots. He doesn't look to pass at all, with only 1 assist all year.

Jesse Smith and Arzelle Lewis are their veterans. Neither have amazing stats, but they don't make a lot of mistakes. Lewis likes to cast 3's, but shoots under 30%. Smith is their big guy at 6'10" 270lbs.

Doug D'Amore gave us fits last year for some reason. He's a bigger guy, but he also shoots a lot of 3's. He gets 9 points/game for them.

Logan Kinghorn is a freshman guard from Idaho who's 6'5" and is getting 8 points/game. He's their 2nd leading rebounder and most of his points come from inside the 3-point line.

Montana should be able to hold this team from scoring too many points. Montana should also out-rebound this team. The turnovers have to be kept to a minimum. If Montana plays a solid game they should have a nice win to start out conference play.
