Updated Sagarin rankings have the Griz currently as the 59th best team in college football, 4 spots behind NDSU. Pretty sure the Griz were in the 90s or 100's to start the season. Some other teams of interest:

I don’t think the algorithm is kind to teams who give up double digit TDs in one game. Unfortunately, there’s just no real way to measure the soft factors the Cats like to tout. Vim, culture, and trajectory are through the roof with that club.
