SACRAMENTO, Calif. (AP) -- Jason Murrietta passed for 431 yards and ran for two touchdowns to lead Northern Arizona to a 24-21 victory over Sacramento State on Saturday night.
Murrietta completed 33 of 49 passes for the league-leading Lumberjacks (5-1, 3-0 Big Sky).
Blake Mori threw for one touchdown and ran for another for Sacramento State (2-4, 1-1).
Murrietta put the Lumberjacks ahead for good when he scored on a 5-yard run with 8:02 remaining, going around right end on an option.
The winning touchdown was set up when Sacramento State, leading 21-17, failed to convert on a fake punt from its own 47 with 9:20 to go. On fourth-and-two, linebacker Ryan Kroeker took a short snap, but was stopped short of the first down.
Northern Arizona responded with a five-play drive that ended with Murrietta's touchdown run.
Murrietta also had a 1-yard touchdown run and a 42-yard touchdown pass to Clarence Moore in the second quarter.
Johnny Marshall caught 13 passes for 161 yards for Northern Arizona.
