Sac State Ripped by Local Media

I've been hearing Rumblings and Grumblings about a possible move to the WCC or the WAC. However, I'm not sure what a move to the WCC would mean for the football program. I think that optomistically, we could switch conferences by the time our new arena is ready. I don't really think that we fit well into the Big Sky. Our style of play is totally different, and the location of our school (and NAU for that matter) is a burden on the other teams. I think that with the inclusion on Northern Colorado by the Big Sky, they're preparing for such a move.

One point I have to bring up about Sacramento State though before the lovefest gets too out of control. :thumb:

Was the team really taking pictures at center court after the Weber game celebrating their first road sweep? If that's the case, then good for them, but if you're celebrating things like that...well its rather kind of funny I'd say.

I know Don Read and other Griz coaches have always felt Sac is a sleeping giant if they ever get facilities. The recruiting base is there and Sacramento has the city lights that some like, close to 2 NBA franchises which athletes like, especially those that think they can get to the next level. There may come a time we are glad they move, but that time isn't here yet.

Jagur: and which Maloof do you know personally about this?? Actually, there a people who work for the Kings and Sac State athletics. There are a lot of ties and the Maloofs are actually supportive of Sac State.

What I said earlier is that the media, mostly TV, is in love, bed with the Maloofs. They fail to see that there is more than the Kings in town.

First of all, we are not a private school, so you can rule out the WCC. Even Pacific can't get a look because, they have no church affliation, like all the other WCC schools have.

Because of the media, the perception in this town is that because we play I-AA football, its not real Div. I conference. Well, we all know that argument that I-AA football, especially the BSC, is pretty damn good.

Yes there would be people in the community who would rather see Reno, Fresno, San Jose because they are close. I like the BSC. After 10 years, I would hope I would come to love and hate of all of you :thumb:
