If you like stats, you will find some crazy stats on this site I just found.

Ryan Staudacher the 4th best overall ofensive player in the nation in this stat list grouping..(it must be some pairing of shooting percentage and low turnovers and assists) Stauds is also 9th in the nation in 3 percentage.

Qvale and AJ make the top 100 list also in overall offensive also.... :D I dont see any lobos.

I am ready for basketball and sunshine...in less than 48 hours. GO GRIZ !!!!

This is a well-deserved ranking. That kid can really play ball. And those muscled arms of his? Forget about it! It's also interesting that there aren't a lot of the blacks toward the front of this list considering how many play these days.

This guy is hilarious. Iris and Harry Moe Lestor? Surprised no one's called this troll out yet. LOL

Anyway, Staudacher looks like a baller. Our Roman Martinez is #21 on that list.

Ill start this by saying that I'm a big fan of stauds but... I dunno if I have ever seen a shooter like him that was so easy to defend and completely take out of a game. Big sky teams know the formula well play man and just stay in his hip pocket because he seemingly won't shoot unless he is wide open. While they don't. Run the offense through him I feel they do run quite a few plays for him and I feel that he turns down way to many shots. I am all for taking good shots but with that kinda shot I think u need to force one every now and the. There have been a few games that he took around 5 or 6 shots or less that is not good enough. It seems he is the key to our offense a lot in the sense that when he is hitting everybody is hitting. I don't know the excact stats cuz I am at work on my phone but I would much rather see him shoot 39-40% with 100-150 more attempts than 45% with the attempts he has. That 3 he hit in the second half against weber really got me thinking, on that shot he caught it int. the triple threat looked to pass then just pulled up and buried it. So why doesn't he do that a little more. In short I think he is way too unselfish and really needs to think shoot first nearly everytime down court which Is an attitude I really don't recall ever seeing him have. His shot is his greatest weapon but too often he plays like a pass first point. I think if comes out with this aTtitude against unm it could really get us goin and give aj a little extra room and he is gonna need all the room he can get cuz they will come out and blanket him.

Thoughts please anyone???

Staudacher is effecient and smart. That is what Tinkle likes. For what it is worth, Staudacher and Taylor both have been looking to shoot more the last 6 weeks. They still take good shots but not only wide open ones. Lately, it appears to me if Stauds has a slight opening he is to take the shot.

From seeing UNM a few times, with good ball movement the GRIZ will have plenty of looks from 3. It is just a matter of making the passes and anticipating their defensive rotation and tendencies.

Staudacher is Tinkle's kind of player. I think Tinkle and many coaches would go crazy with a true gunner, like David Bell. His game kept me on pins and needles. His shot selection could take his team out of it just as fast as it could bring his team back. As someone that has coached both kind of players, I prefer the Staudacher type, if for anything it is easier to make personnel and strategy decisions, because you know what to expect.

From a coaching perspective, I can see and justify Tinkle's thought process with Staudacher's minutes. From a fan perspective, at times it is easy to question it. Effeciency though is something every player should strive for, and most every coach loves.

I'm fine with his minutes and certainly don't want him shooting like david bell. Half of bells shots came out of the offense and that is not what I'm looking for. I would just like him to be A LOT more agressive coming off screens that are set for him to get a shot off. While I have. Noticed him looking to shoot more I still don't feel he looks for it enough. His jumper is absolutely perfect and I could watch him shoot all day and I too love his constistency and efficiancy just want him too unload it a little more. GO GRIZ!!!

Stauds jumpshot is what you show young basketball players video of. I too could watch Stauds all day, as close to perfect shot as one can see.

everyone seems to think the key for an upset is hitting the Three...We have the guys that can do it !!
AJ Stuads taylor Slevig but please no Cherry for three

here is what Rivals says..

BOMBS AWAY
The Buzz: The great equalizer in college basketball is the 3-point shot. Not everybody has big-time talent at each position, but a lot of teams have numerous guys who can fill it up from beyond the arc. Remember that shooting 38 percent from 3-point range is the equivalent to shooting 57 percent on two-pointers and shooting 41 percent from 3-point range is the equivalent to 61.5 percent on two-pointers.
Fitting the profile this season Cornell (43.4 percent), Lehigh (40.0 percent), Montana (40.4 percent), New Mexico State (37.1 percent), Sam Houston State (37.8 percent), UC Santa Barbara (37.9 percent), Utah State (41.9 percent).
