Ryan Leaf booted from treatment center to prison

I've known Leaf off and on for a long time. Not long ago he spoke publicly in Havre and then had a private speaking with the Northern football team. He was very honest and open about his life, his drug problems and his failures. From the NFL to drugs and on, he took full blame. I'll admit, I walked away from those talks thinking he wouldn't fall again. MAybe slip but not fall. I couldn't have been more wrong. I believe Deer Lodge is his rock bottom and he deserves to be there at this point. It may be the only thing that saves him. MAYBE.

from golden boy to present day,,,this shows the end game of getting caught up in the drug culture..i also believe it is relavent here, because if a young e-grizer sees the light, worth it..imho...

I didn't know that RL was doing drugs in high school.

No surprise to anyone that knows this POS. He is selfish ego-maniac that has always done what he wants when he wants and has never listened to or obeyed any orders from coaches or management or judges. He married a Chargers cheer-leader (briefly), which was not allowed by Chargers management. She was fired. When he was supposedly injured and unable to play or practice (for a team paying him millions), he would still go to the golf course and practice chipping. He has consistently been given a free-pass instead of hard-time for his numerous indescretions. Forget about his football past. It's about time everyone realizes this is a VERY dangerous druggie/criminal that belongs in prison. I can't think of anyone in the world that I would be more confident that will/would commit more crimes if let free. I have ZERO hope that he will ever "get it". I just hope Texas follows up and gives him his 10-year sentence that they let him walk on too. Nopbody deserves their fate more than this clown.

I saw the DA for Randall County where I reside and where Ryan Leaf was convicted interviewed on TV when Texas wanted to extradite him down here to face charges of parole violation and there was a conflict with Montana. He was furious and said that he would not rest until Ryan Leaf "stood before the bar of justice" here in Texas.

wow, i didn't know he was a Griz or played on and fcs school...
I think it would be difficult to deny that RL is a person of interest in Montana and particularly with Montana football fans. It seems like an appropriate place to post such a thing.
I think the sports forum is a good place for a person who renounced his residency and wanted to be known as from washington. What is the title of the damn forum montana football or montana grizzly football and the fcs. He has nothing to do with either of them.

Someone mentioned a certain UM Basketball player who was banned by the NBA for life. You should note that this ban was lifted by David Stern probably a decade ago.

I'm confused why the headline isn't Former Washington State Cougar Ryan Leaf. Isn't that what papers do?

I live out in Washington, and on the radio they said "ex-Washington State Cougar quarterback Ryan Leaf".

Believe it or not Griz fans, there isn't some huge conspiracy to bring down the UM football program...
