Robin Pflugrad

I apologize for my assumptions as to your position of advising. As stated it usually takes some time for a coach to develop the offense with his players. He got one year with Weber with very average athletes. Maybe call that bad luck because the HC was fired. He did well this year considering the schools past performance. As for those you suggested advised RE, one of them actually opposed the firings and probably lost his job because of it. He also advised RE on hiring Delaney which I still feel was a mistake. I am positive RP would have been to the playoffs his third year even without Johnson because he knew how to run that offense with his players. Absolutely no question in my mind, the firings were bonehead.

Foley was in involved as was David Aronofsky both of who "retired." Things didn't turn out well for Pat Williams either. Tell us more PR, about the silence on RE's part and the letter of recomomendation? was that also "silent" or was silent you not being consulted?

Not arguing any of that just that if Robin had reacted differently (whether he was right or not) he may likely have been more hirable. His inexpertise at "politics" was a big part of all of it. His comments 3 days prior in rgards to JJ started a firestorm that would not have been easily extinguished

BTW there was a big fish by the name of Jack Poe engstrom spent a fair amount of time at his home in Cali with prior to the firings. Who knows what happenes in those and similar discussions.

For a real interesting read look on page 11: http://www.umt.edu/retirees/docs/2013-14%20retiree%20blurbs%20from%20UMERD.pdf

Nope, Foley wasn't consulted about the firings. Letter of recommendation? Don't know what you are talking about? In fact, don't understand any of the last part of your post.

Agree that Pflugrad's comments on JJ seemed to be a trigger. So, if the comments were a or the trigger, Pflugrad was fired for being right on JJ. JJ was acquitted remarkably quick in his trial, almost everyone who attended or followed the trial closely predicted and agreed with the result, and the University didn't kick JJ out of school. Pflugrad said almost nothing publicly for almost 2 years, so you are incorrect that his reaction to the firing negatively impacted his hiring by other schools. That is total BS on your part, TNT.

Of course you don't, that's your usual approach when called on a verbose statement like:

"What has severely impacted Pflugrad's ability to get a good job, is the original firing and Engstrom's complete silence." he didn't talk to you or the press but he did give Robin a letter of recommendation which I had quoted. I just wondered if THAT was complete silence? You know, they way personnel matters are supposed to be handled?

He was employed when he gave this interview: http://missoulian.com/sports/college/montana/football/pflugrad-left-part-of-his-heart-at-montana/article_9633c734-4da8-11e3-944e-0019bb2963f4.html
He was also employed when he gave this interview:
http://espn.go.com/college-football/story/_/id/9514039/ex-montana-grizzlies-coach-robin-pflugrad-defends-program

He wasn't until very recently employed again. Add those to the JJ comments and someone hiring would (should)have concerns about what else he might say. It doesn't MATTER whether or not he was right. Even HE admitted it in the Missoulian interview, he just didn't learn from it.

Actually, Pflugrad has been employed since early 2015--so was employed prior to recently. In addition, he has had various other shorter term football gigs along the way. What he said in those articles you linked was perfectly fine, and have nothing to do with his employment situation. Yes, it does matter whether Engstrom was right--as Engstrom was wrong. Engstrom just bowed to some political pressure, and did what was right for Engstrom--not the football program, athletic or the university.

I was talking about Robin being right. It doesn't matter if he was right. Us common folks learned early to keep your mouth shut about your boss and especially your OLD boss when looking for work....

Nope, after someone fires someone without justification, and over time it becomes clear that there wasn't justification, then it's okay to defend yourself and note that you were fired without justification. That actually improves your chances of being hired in the future.

Nope, you're wrong PR.. Not even close!
