Oh please. You move-up mavens never miss an opportunity. What you don't seem to get, is that its all about the money. Money that we don't have.

You're pumping a dry hole, growler...Nobody knows if the money is there, because nobody has ever asked for it. FACT: UM has never asked boosters, corporate donors or you for move-up money because there has never been a plan presented asking for any! This isn't from me, but from "somebody" who until recently was part of the Adams Center scene....As with most Flat Landers, you're got the cart before the horse.

Actually, moving up has been discussed several times with all or most of the major donors and potential donors, and, at least as of the fall of 2010, most of them were not in favor of moving up. Some were affirmatively against moving up. That being said, I assume they were generally in favor of UM keeping its eyes open, improving facilities, and being prepared if the landscape changed dramatically and a good opportunity came along.

There's what you know, there's what you don't know, and there's what you don't know that you don't know.

I won't donate a penny until UM moves up...they've got plenty of money at their current level.

Idaho is doing the same thing the Griz are doing- maintaining the status quo and waiting to see what shakes out. I don't know where you guys are getting the notion that UM will be forced to go down to D2, especially since you don't seem to give the NCAA the power to do anything other than wring it's hands. Who will be doing the "forcing"?

This is on the money.
Idaho AND Montana both know things are changing. Both are holding back until we know what's on the other side. For now, jumping to the Big Sky makes no sense for Idaho when a new 1AA is on the horizon. At which time they may face some old foes from the Big Sky, but not the entire conference. Similarly for now, jumping into a dying WAC makes no sense for Montana. It would cost us a fortune and still give us no more certainty about our place in conferences which do not even exist yet. Each school realizes their best course is exercising "Patience Weedhopper".

FCS Go, FYI the "forced down to D2" nonsense is just fear mongering by those who wet their pants with each passing thunderstorm. If they want to worry, a more realistic fear might be a temporary hiatus to Grizzly football forced by the Administration or certain members of the Board of Regents. Not a happy thought but a far more likely one than DII.

There is no rush necessary because a team like us, that has 25K at every game is NOT going to be left behind. If we had listened to the "chicken little" move uppers a while ago, we would be wringing our hands just like Idaho without a clue. Bound by contractual commitments to stay FBS but with no conference to play in would be a way worse situation. Calm down and lets see what shakes out. Put the horse back in front of the cart and use your brain. It is fear that makes you want to rush to judgments.

Absolutely!

Absolutely!

It's fear that makes you afraid to make a decision. Do you think it's possible that if Montana and MSU had accepted the WAC invite that the WAC wouldn't have collapsed?

Was MSU invited to the WAC? What departing WAC schools do you think would have stayed if Montana and MSU were joining the WAC?

MSU was NOT invited. If we alone could have saved the WAC I want to know how three teams makes a conference when two doesn't? Jesus you people are stupid sometimes. (AZ!)

+1!!! The teams that left the WAC would have left the WAC, whether UM was there or not. What in he!! would make anyone thing otherwise??

Why is the WAC being discussed?? UM looked at the WAC, and wisely said "no".

That still shouldnt exclude UM from looking at better offers.

I didn't say I THOUGHT otherwise, I asked if you thought it was possible.
