THe cats won fair and square but it could've easily been the other way around.

and that is my point. you could say that about any aspect of the game but people love using turnovers and big plays the most. had the cats been able to tackle last year we wouldn't have lost by 3 tds and could have won. if it wasn't for 3 big plays against shsu we could have won that too. you find me any game and i can find aspects within the game that show it "could" have gone the other way. in the end it doesn't matter.

turnovers count. big plays happen. special teams and field goals are part of the game. etc. etc. etc. all of these have an impact.

All true. But stating that Bowman was getting "a first down on every carry" was untrue and extremely misleading. That's the only point of the statistical breakdown. He had a couple REALLY nice runs...bookends to a whole bunch of nothing.

also true. but find me any stat that doesn't do that. you see a qb that is averaging 350 yards passing. i could find games where he had 500 yards against crap opponents and "take them away" to sho he's really averaging only a couple hundred a game. every single stat we use in football can be skewed this way.

Well, except QB's against our pass defense. They get 7-8 yards EVERY completion.   Write it down.

I agree but a turnover or one big play is different than when an offense is completely dominating a defense. Last year in the cat/Griz game the Griz ran the ball at will on you guys. If we would've won by a touchdown than I would agree that if you take away the one big play to Jabin it easily could've gone the other way. You can't really argue with execution of a game plan.

And for my sake I am not saying if you take away the two long runs by Bauman the Griz win this game. I was just saying that the Griz defense did a pretty good job on him until they were gassed in the second half.

Come on AZ, Bauman was the Big Sky offensive player of the week.
