and that is my point. you could say that about any aspect of the game but people love using turnovers and big plays the most. had the cats been able to tackle last year we wouldn't have lost by 3 tds and could have won. if it wasn't for 3 big plays against shsu we could have won that too. you find me any game and i can find aspects within the game that show it "could" have gone the other way. in the end it doesn't matter.
turnovers count. big plays happen. special teams and field goals are part of the game. etc. etc. etc. all of these have an impact.
All true. But stating that Bowman was getting "a first down on every carry" was untrue and extremely misleading. That's the only point of the statistical breakdown. He had a couple REALLY nice runs...bookends to a whole bunch of nothing.
