Read the Payton post fellas. Why would Root want to televise Big Sky Conference basketball games?

Because Root covers this region and at least UM and WSU put a great product on the floor. One of these teams will likely reach the Dance, where in a first round game they will get twice the national audience that the FCS football Championship game draws (ratings of first round games average 1.9 million viewers, the chipper- 1 million. Get to the dance, even if you lose in R1, and its at least the equivalent of the football chipper in terms of the national stage. These two teams, at least, deserve some tv coverage within their region.

It really simple....

No one outside of 12 towns in western america gives a F Fluck about the BS C.

WHY? Take a look at the BS conference... There are 351 teams that are rated, look at the piss poor numbers!
The sooner UM gets out of this cluster.... the better!

BTW these numbers are skewed (badly) because of the conference games played. UM could beat NAU by 100 and the Griz might move up 2 spots.

Sagarine Rankings out of 351 teams
131 Weber State
158 Montana
201 Eastern Washington
204 North Dakota
224 Idaho
254 Portland State
261 Montana State
268 Idaho State
272 Sacramento State
312 Northern Colorado
340 Northern Arizona
341 Southern Utah

--- Last night on Altitude, I watched.....wait for it....Stephen F Austin and Incarnate Ward......

In all due respect grizzle, why do they deserve to be televised? Look at the Sagarin ratings.
UM is a good basketball team and likely to get much better. It is the conference that is very bad.

Spanky I think the teams power rankings have something to do with it but regional markets have more pull than that, especially in Montana, Idaho, Dakotas, Utah, Washington. I mean, sure the NAU-SUU showdown wouldn't take scheduling priority over Utah vs Oregon State or UW vs Gonzaga or whatever within the region but surely UM-Weber or UND-EWU is more compelling to local viewers that Incarnate Word and SFA, both of which suck and are Out of Region. There is also the "If you show it they will come" factor. Televising the BSC GIVES it "relevance". If our fearless conference administration was less incompetent they would push for more exposure at least for our bigger games at the regional level. After all, the BSC gets its shitty seedings in part because no one on the committee has ever seen them play.

Quit making sense here, BG!!!! That is a no no on this site.

I love college basketball, I channel surf for games on the nights I don't work. It is shocking the number of games one can find with teams/conference on the lower half of the ratings. Yet, very seldom do I find a Big Sky game.
