Recruiting class

So my answer is Hauck is pretty certain when he says "If you don't want to be here get out"

I don't think he is pushing players out, but I bet he has some real heart to hearts with some players and lets them know where the stand.

Read did the same thing but then went out and tried to find players landing spots somewhere else. I don't know if Hauck does the same thing.

As far as Spring, I bet it will be one of the hardest Hauck Springs on record.
Sometimes as a coach you just let things take their natural course and the toughest players stay and the ones that have doubts leave on their own.

All that being said, I feel like this team is pretty tight and really pull for each other. I could be wrong but I just don't see a mass exodus

I agree with you. Good analysis.

Good perspective. If you watch his interview on signing day its pretty clear their is going to be significant turnover. Bobby was able to see up close and personal the talent difference between NDSU and the Griz. BY the way, I was at the game and the differences are glaring. I guarantee you, he is taking everything about the program under a microscope.

I appreciate your answer about Bobby's portal philosophy. But you still didn't address my question regarding whether we can have more players in the program with promises of a full-ride than there are "open" scholarships. And, is there a date where all scholarship players must be identified by a school to the NCAA? I recently heard an interview with Kirby Smart on signing day in which Kirby said that he currently had over 100 players on his team, but would have to experience attrition to get down to his final scholarship limit.

I am just trying to understand how all of this signing stuff with portal athletes works regarding available scholarships. Thanks for your answer on the other part.

Scholarships are a one year contract between the school and the person. Typically, there are cuts made after spring ball, both scholarship and non-scholarship players.

Does that include coaches? Because absent some major departures it wouldn't appear so.

I understand that, but there are always players signed following spring ball. So, what is the date when the final roster, and allocation of scholarships has to be finalized? Anyone know?
