Record breaking punt return

With 10 minutes left in the fourth quarter and Montana down 21-20, he retreated to his own 40 to catch a punt, got to the left sideline with a wall of blockers in front of him, pointed out to Jaxon Lee the last man he wanted blocked and, once again, stepped into the end zone untouched.

“I saw Jaxon look back at me and I was like, just block somebody,” Bergen said. “Just get in someone’s way. He did, and I just had to beat the last dude.”

The score was Bergen’s fourth career punt-return touchdown, breaking the Montana school record.

Bergen directing traffic for the win will go down in Griz lore.

The replay is cool. Looks like Jaxon takes out the last two defenders.

Didn't Levander Segars have a TD from a kickoff return and a punt return in the same game as well? I believe it was against Northern Arizona, on the road, at Flagstaff, if not mistaken. In 2004?

Record book says two TDs from punt returns but I thought one was from a kickoff; oh well.

I think I heard Jefferson Heidelberger had a punt and kick off return for TD’s against NW State in the playoffs.
