Re: 2013 Recruiting Class (20 verbals/8 offers)

Rodney Stuckey, Taiwan Jones, and Mr. Martin. That list says it all. Superb athletes that couldn't qualify anywhere (or almost anywhere) else.

Pflugrad mentioned several times when he was coaching here that EWU held a distinct recruiting advantage in that they could get athletes accepted that we simply could not. This is a fact. Why try to deny it??? It's to your program's advantage. I'm just saying it says more about your program's academic standards than anything else.

And to your "head to head" recruiting wins against us, that doesn't mean sh*t. The Griz beat out back-to-back champs NDSU in battles for 2 of their most-prized recruits this year in Tre'shawn Favors and Ryan McKinley. Does that mean our program is in better shape than NDSU's?? Absolutely not.

I think you missed the point of my post. You make it sound like we have a team made up of academic non-qualifiers when in fact only one or two of those kids are recruited every year. So sure, that is an advantage if the kid ever sees the field. The reality is that very few do, but there are a few examples of some that do.

The reason I bring this up is because this whole issue is vastly over-played by both Montana schools. One or two players do not make a team. Yes, a player like Taiwan Jones is a game-changer, but look at all the AA's and national player of the year awardees that were not Prop 48's or high-risk academic types....Erik Meyer (Payton Award), Greg Peach (Buchanon Award), BLM (Payton Award), JC Sherritt (Buchanon Award)...your Brandon Kaufmans, Nick Edwards, etc. etc. etc. None of those guys were Prop-48's. Your argument simply doesn't fly - sorry.
