RBs missing

So we have Logwood or do we? Favors same status as Logwood, correct? (injured) Then there is Counts who is red shirting at least for now. Sure would be nice to have some of these athelets back even though our o-line is struggling :|

Counts is playing. Calhoun is the RB redshirting. Personally, I'd love to see what Favors can do. I like Counts, but that fumble against Liberty was a huge momentum change for Liberty and deflated the GRIZ. After that, it was all down hill for the GRIZ.

To be honest, it all comes down to our OL needing to improve.

I truly believe you could throw Barry Sanders into the RB position right now but until the O line and scheme will allow these guys to find holes that lead to yards, then no RB is going to be able to do crap. Our offense has been made very one dimensional the last two games due to this issue. One dimensional is never good and will turn into a long season if not corrected. I still have hope they will get it together and have played against some tough defense so far. Liberty bull rushed and blitzed almost every down in the second half as they completely had no fear or respect of our run game.

It is naïve to place the lack of a running game entirely on the OL. We do not have a RB of the caliber we are familiar with. But more importantly, I question how much priority the running game gets in practice with this OC. Running game execution like everything is a team effort and it looks poor everywhere; it looks totally secondary. But believe me a Barry Sanders would make a difference, or a Canada, or a Reynolds, or a Hilliard, or a Humphery, or a .... A good RB can make an average OL look good.

I agree. Getting Germer back coaching the OL was a very smart move by Stitt. More time with him working on that unit and new players will get us back on track.

Any RB that is willing to run north south instead of east west is 1000x better than the starter we have right now!
like "a Canada, or a Reynolds, or a Hilliard, or a Humphery, or a ...."

Or a Brady Green ;)
Is "Brady" a nickname for our former RB and current RB coach, Justin? Now that you mention it, he's not having a very good year so far.

Agreed...Demarco Murray seemed unstoppable last year...21 carries for 11 yards so far this year. I think the OL matters!

Agree 100%. That was my entire point. A good to great offensive line would have a much better chance of making an average running back look solid. And on the flip end, a good to great running back can become very average with an offensive line that struggles. It all starts up front.
