Will Cherry was the best player on the floor. Lillard will make far more money in the NBA, but I'll take Will 100 times out of 100 times in the college game. His ridiculous defense makes up for any small advantages that Lillard has offensively. And his heart is bigger.

Player of the game -- and if you had given me odds on this before the game I would have said 1.2 million to one -- was Weiser. I was really impressed with him watching live, but when I watched the replay tonight, I was amazed at the plays he was making and the job he did defensively. He not only kept the Griz in it with Selvig AWOL, but he flat-out made plays. He did NOT play like a Frosh tonight.

The Griz D is amazing. Weber didn't shoot it well, but a great deal of that can be attributed to UM's defense. If you can defend, you can win. There isn't a 3 or 4 seed in the nation that wants to draw Montana and their D.

Weber looked like they had the weight of the world on them. Maybe being a "basketball school" only isn't such a good thing.

This is the most athletic Griz team I can ever recall.

Lillard really is a great player.

Griz: Big Sky Champs. Has a great ring to it! :thumb:

As a coGriz faithful (along with our comrades) watching the game live @ Sluggers in Kirkland I say ditto to all of the above and we drained our celebratory libations as we topped off the night @ the pub!! :thumb:
