This definitely isn’t last years Jackrabbits team
Recently, yeah, but 2007 Michigan (App State) and 2010 Virginia Tech (JMU) finished their season ranked 18th and 16th in the AP poll, respectively. This is how these games usually go. More often than not, if a team is truly a top 20 FBS squad then they beat the pants off the FCS school, even if they are a top 5 FCS school. If you look back at the times a top 20 FBS team lost to an FCS team I’d bet that team didn’t finish the season ranked.
Agreed. I think it was 06 we got the piss kicked out of us at Iowa, and on one of the better hauck years we got a good kicking from Oregon, and in 2011 we got smoked by Tennessee…..all of those teams were good. All I took from that SDSU game was the reaffirmation that there’s a pretty large chasm between the top of the P4 FBS and the top of the FCS. Nothing to be ashamed of in that…..there’s just as large of a chasm between the top of the P4 FBS and the G5 as well. Those teams are only going to continue to separate more now that players can be paid.It would be absolutely foolish to assume the Jackrabbits are not the team to beat in FCS. They held their own for half the game and are no pushovers. They have some DOLA as well. Gronkowski did miss some throws today.
Wowza. That one is rough.Just look at the score of the Colorado state vs Texas game. There’s a pretty big gap between the average G5 squad and the top of the P4 too
