He is a MAN now and is playing like it. unbelievable.

might get killed for this but that game was darn near as impressive as AJ vs. weebs. 28,18,5, 11/15? those are video game numbers. domination on both ends of the floor for 40 minutes all the while being surrounded by three guys in a zone designed to stop you. his explosion off the floor i dont think i have seen out of him before, hope we see more of it.

tinks brought up an interesting point about him being better against bigger comp because of the way they ref bigs. his numbers seem to back that up, not sure tonight qualifies (big sky officials?) but oregon, wash, new mexico and ucla, were all big games by him, with better officiating crews.

I think he would start for all but maybe 10 or 15 schools in america right now.

And dont even get me started on will cherry. :thumb: GO GRIZ!!!

I was sitting behind the Oregon State bench a few rows up.
The coach got a little bit ruffled when I told him he now knew
how his sister felt most days, getting so little respect!

And like her, he also probably got more than he deserved?

After a phantom foul call on the Griz, I yelled at him from five feet away "that call was worse than the stimulus package". Their fans all laughed and he winked at me. He was a good sport for getting ribbed the whole game I thought.

This was the best I've ever seen Qvale play. Even better than the ncaa game, I thought. He was great on offense and defense (with about 2 exceptions), and his shot blocking and intimidation were terrific. These were the best hands I've ever seen him have. He was slashing to the basket and getting the good feed for lay-ins or dunks. I liked his 3 or 4 dunks, instead of lay-ins. His free throws were good. His decision-making was good. I've heard that the NBA is watching. While I've thought since the ncaa game that he might get a shot, this was the first game where I thought he was truly NBA material. He is getting better every year, and is improving this year before our very eyes. He has the potential to continue to improve. He's a fairly athletic kid, and really showed it tonight. He's also a brute. Congrats to Brian on a great game.

Nice. Those are great seats. Found myself there tonight as well. All night I tried to remember where in the world I had seen or heard about their coach. Then it dawned on me that it is Michelle Obama's brother or brother-in-law. I hate to say it, but after that performance, he needs to go talk to Barack about a job in the government because he shot himself in the foot by not fouling Cherry with 30 something seconds left in the game.

Well,if nothing else, that should qualify him for some type
of upper management, 6 figure, government posting!

Federal judge maybe? :thumb:

Qvale's development, coordination, and game is absolutely amazing. Tonight I seen offensive explosion and attitude I never knew he had in him. He is a solid FT shooter for a big man too. IF he keeps playing this way, he will see his NBA stock raise. I am thinking he is a top 10 center nationally.

I hope we see double doubles from him rest of the season.

The Griz are going to be a tough team in the conference...how do you play a Cherry or Qvale at the same time if you are on defense? Love this team in spite of its weaknesses, which can be chalked up to youth.

if cherry can hit even 33% from three, he is going to be tough to stop. If teams try and zone because of BQ, and Selvig and Wood and Cherry can hit a respectable amount, watch out. then what do you do? let BQ post up, or cherry drive and finish or dish? if they can hit the outside shot...things could be very interesting.

Sitting behind the S hoop, watching Qvale go up over the defense to the point his elbows were at the rim was a fun time. He has developed as a player quite a bit in a short time. The guy is just a beast down low. He made some guys pay. I knew that was gonna be a good show, and glad I made it down.

Looking fwd to a Cat smackdown 1/22 also!
