Qvale and Cherry - 1st Team All-Conference

Qvale and Cherry are first team all-conference. Qvale was a unanimous choice, and is the defensive MVP. Beitzel is the conference MVP. Congrats to Qvale and Cherry.

Rest of the all-conference team includes Cam Jones from NAU, Bullinger and Bamforth from Weber. Bamforth was also named Newcomer of the Year ... and Fulton, also from Weber, was Freshman of the Year. I still think Qvale got robbed for MVP, but it's hard to argue with the selection of Beitzel.

I think Beitzel is the right choice. In fairness, UNC won the conference and he is their glue. Brian had a great year and, if the Griz had won the conference, he would have been the MVP. Much as I like Brian's body of work this year, Beitzel's is better.
