Questions for tonight’s emergency GFP

It was just a question to ask for the GFP to discuss. They are certainly more connected than I am, so was just wondering if they had anymore info to share. Go ahead and dismiss it, but I thought it was interesting enough to ask.

In my opinion, while there is no great time to make a change at HC, the earlier the better. It would have allowed the AD to run an actual search, the players to make the best decision for them to stay or go based on who the new coach is, and the new HC some time to recruit this cycle and/or bring on some of his own players he was recruiting or from his old team.

I'm not saying Kennedy shouldn't have been appointed the HC now. I am hopeful he does great and it was the best decision to keep the staff and the players together, at this time. We still might have some players leave since the portal window opened just for them to jump in, but I doubt it. Most teams should have a full roster at this point.

Class is actually pretty good both high school and transfer. Would have like another transfer DT but other than that about as good as can be hoped for on that front. Pretty high on the high school kids and hope we keep them all.

Thanks DayLaw for the response. I know you keep track of recruiting more than me. I tend to agree with the line depth, both OL and DL. Brought in quite a few there, which was needed. Hope they are all dudes that can physically beat their opponents. Its easy to get excited that a player came from FBS, but in reality that doesn't matter, if they can't play.

Wished we could have grabbed the Lindor and Lewis kids from in-state. They look like they have potential.

I knew it was about mom. I don’t agree with your take. I was very critical of BH at times. Very. There were things where he deserved scrutiny and he frustrated the heck out of me due to his unwillingness to flex or change. He was an excellent coach at one time and I believe the game evolved and passed him by. Not the X’s and O’s so much. His social media policy. His treatment of the press during both stints as HC. His frustration with the portal, NIL and the state of college football. His damn 3-3-5 (yeah that is a major x and o). Walking away to go to UNLV his first stint. I could go on, but why? He was a state employee. Highly compensated. Knew what he was taking on when he accepted the job and criticism was part of that. Sorry that some don’t like that part of the equation. He sacrificed a ton for the U of M. He was greatly rewarded. Close the book on Bobby Hauck and his legacy will speak for itself. Most will be remembered as good or great and some that wasn’t. He is only human.

You don’t have to agree but with the number of negative posts throughout the season by fans on this board I think negativity was over the top. Look at any game thread and the pissing moaning and gnashing of teeth that took place. Fans did not appreciate what a great season the GRIZ had because the losses came to the rival. Nothing is good enough for eGriz’s fans.
I hope Kennedy is the guy to bring home a championship and I’m in full support, that doesn’t change the fact that fans, media and some former players acted like little babies this year!

You don’t have to agree but with the number of negative posts throughout the season by fans on this board I think negativity was over the top. We can agree on one thing - full support for Bobby Kennedy. I think he will do great things.
