QB update

Johnson seems to have locked up QB1. On the field/in practice he seems to be winning the trust of the team as well. His confidence in his play and knowledge of the system has really grown in the last 3-4 weeks. Hopefully through summer drills and into fall camp that just sinks in better and he really locks it in. If you haven't seen him in pads, he's a broad shouldered guy, looks to be built to absorb some hits. Runs well, maybe better than Sneed did, but I'll need to see more of him in live games before really cementing that opinion. He needs to work on less floater passes / throwing off his back foot - has lead to some of his targets getting lit up or passes behind targets.

Brown has actually had a real good spring. He's pushing Johnson and has done well rotating on reps. Still a few errors here and there but does show better knowledge in the system and familiarity with the team. He falls into some of the same issues he's had before but if needed to play a small stretch of games again I believe we've got a pretty good backup in Brown.

Britt is the future, I'm so excited to see what he can bring to the table when it's his time (next year, presumably).

It's definitely clear that Johnson is the lead from what I've seen. He gets twice as many reps with 1s as anybody else. He's a better thrower than I expected, but not a pure passer. It's hard to tell how elusive he is in the pocket because guys are obviously not trying to take him down like they would in a game, but I've been pretty impressed with his ability to keep a play alive and keep his eyes downfield.

Honestly, I feel like Brown is the same guy. Looks the part, but can't put it all together.

Britt is a baller. I'd bet he's QB 2 by the end of fall.

Priority #1: Keeping Johnson healthy.

Well Hot Damn

After reading this I'm even more excited about our Defense.
They're going to be really really good once again.

“I would also say seeing all the different looks our defense gives, we have a really challenging, very competitive defense and just seeing everything they give is helpful because you know that there’s probably not much else you can see out there on any given Saturday.”
