Q: No more news?

Please excuse my ignorance. The main reason I started to come to this site was for your information. I had thought you stopped posting it. Now that I know where it is I will start taking advantage of your efforts.
 
Having to login is certainly a deterrent. But count me among those that just have noticed that section. Now I know...

My proposal would be for you to post your news in a new weekly news thread in the football section, in which only you could post. I seldom look at the news forum, but I enjoy articles like the ones you post. I would look if there was a news thread in the football section. As you added links during the week, the thread would move to the top. Even if the thread went down, we'd know it was down there somewhere, and could easily find it. I'd rather not have all of the banter of other posters cluttering the news thread/links, because I'd rather just see the new links immediately and not a bunch of other posts. If someone wanted or needed to start a discussion on a particular article, they could move it to a new thread. I don't like stickies, because I tend not to look at them and don't notice new posts. I look at the top 20 or so threads, below the stickies, when I log in, and by definition they are new or current or have new posts.
 
Thanks for all the feedback. A couple of quick points.

• Griz news by email: send a note to [email protected] and ask to be added to the list. Email goes out BCC.

• I usually only do Griz football because I'm pretty worn out by the end of the season, but I do some basketball.

• I usually do batches of articles. Chris locked the News forum and only authorized eGrizers can post there. I posted dozens articles and blurbs Mon-Fri, and single article posts might extend to several pages making it harder to find articles. I'm guessing that opening it up for everyone to post might add some redundancy.

• Having the news links posted in the News forum versus Football forum allows easy access to the list of news articles — they don't get lost among the many posts in the Football forum. But they don't get seen either.

I'm busy this morning with coordinator stuff, but something will change, and I haven't talked to Chris yet. Even a redundant post in Football forum isn't much extra work. I do the news gathering no matter what, and that will never end. I just saw PlayerRep's post and there may be some very good ideas in there. Later.
 
Should talk to Chris and make the news forum a sub category under this thread, it would be easier for more to find and see
 
I too am one of those who only bookmarked the football forum, and would appreciate it if your information was posted on this forum. I realize it is my problem that I don't go to the news forum, but I am looking all over the Net for info, and tend to focus on AGS and Sportsnetwork with eGriz coming in first.

When your work has been spotlighted on the forum, I have always appreciated it, and to tell the truth, your stuff is better than what I find on my own. Please keep posting and if nothing else, add me to your email list and I will start a topic in this forum linking back to it every week.
