Gazette: Have expectations changed in the face of the upheaval?
"Winning a championship is always the expectation at the University of Montana, and it should always be the expectation. That will never change. That is what Montana football is all about."

Good read!

Where do you suppose the Griz coaching staff get their belts? I need a new one!

Awesome! That interview was very inspiring, and answers a lot of concerns people have voiced about the coming year. I'm very impressed by his responses, and more hopeful for the 2012 season.

Wow. I was impressed with every single answer to every single question. The Griz are in great hands with Mick.

He knows the destiny of any team relys upon the players themselves. Seniors set the tone for success. If they demand loyalty from the other players to the team and to the program, discipline and, subsequently, success will follow. Coach Delaney knows how to win.

I am seriously impressed. Reading the entire interview you have to love his candor, articulation, and thorough answers to a bunch of tough Q's, making no bones about his approach and plans for moving forward, his respect for and commitment to Griz traditions/coaching history and the University of Montana's demonstrated legacy of emphasis on doing things the right way (as he so eloquently stated in one of his responses) and just his general demeanor about the whole situation.

We are in great hands and GrizNation has to feel very positive about healing from this mess and moving forward in the weeks and months ahead.

Thank you Mick for recognizing the priorities and placing things in the right perspective! :thumb:

What changes in discipline or off-the-field structure must be made at Montana?

"There have already been some changes in the discipline structure (the student-athlete code of conduct), and those were generated from the president's office and university counsel, including Mr. O'Day and Mr. Pflugrad, which have already been put into effect. I'd like to make it known that coach Pflugrad had used discipline in every situation we were faced with. And I will continue to do that as it is appropriate. I won't let anything slide by. But when you get into things of a criminal nature -- and again, of all the allegations that have been made only one charge has been filed -- it puts things into a different perspective."

I have it on very strong accord that Pflu & O'Day were never give any type of ultimatum. Not plan of "attack" form the University president & ZERO request of what the expectation would be moving forward prior to being cut off at the knees!

I am not an attorney but that all sounds like wrongful termination to me. I wonder if Pflu would come back if asked...something tells me he would! See you Saturday...BE THERE! These kids need our support its time to come together & move forward.
