Problems in Bozone?

Maybe one of the cat regulars over here can shed some light on this. The way this reads 3 bobcat starters dropped classes to avoid F's and then didn't have enough credits to be eligible. cat fan?

Rasmussen connected with 11 different receivers in a scrimmage where the Bobcats were missing several offensive players because of injury and what head coach Mike Kramer called “academic mortality.” On the final day to drop a class without receiving an ‘F,’ the offense was without starters Jim Verlanic (center), Louis Saucedo (right guard) and Mason because they aren’t carrying enough credits. Also out were Peder Jensen (starting left tackle; flu) and Elliott Barnhart (starting tight end; knee surgery).
“The scrimmage was exquisitely, extremely, excruciatingly limited because of the health in our offensive front,” Kramer said. “The whole flavor of our spring took a tremendous change over the last 24 hours in terms of the loss of guys to the academic firewall.”

Don't get too presumptuous. It's called summer school. Any don't worry, they will be back to kick grizzly ass in November. :finger:

Alright. Non-aggressive post now.
They will take a class over the summer and get the 3 more credits and be eligible by fall. Nothing really to worry about.

Oh, so now it is no big deal since it is 3 cats taking summer classes. How convenient.

I can just imagine what kind of questions they'll have on their Final Exam over there in summer school MSU style:

Question #1: How many points do you score in a basketball game when you shoot a three-point shot?

-any questions?

Yes, the ball is somewhat different. Yes, it is a round ball and no, you don't usually dribble a football. Any further questions?

...yes, yes, this is an open-book test by the way and no this is not an essay type question.

Let's be fair here. We somehow kept JR Camel eligible for a few years.

I'm not sure if a logical post is going to be accepted in the smack talk forum, but I'll give 'er a try.

Every year MSU has some players who are forced to take summer classes in order to remain eligible. In fact, I would bet that most schools around the country are in the same situation. The difference between MSU and most other schools is weather. Bozeman gets quite a bit of snow in late march/early april forcing MSU to start spring drills later than most other schools. If we would have finished drills last weekend (like many schools did), everyone would have been eligible for the entire spring because spring ball would have been completed before the drop date.

Am I disapointed that some of our student athletes concentrate more on the latter than the former? Of course. Do I think we'll have any eligibility issues this fall? Not at all. It's pretty easy to take a couple of classes over the summer, plus it's a good excuse to stick around bozeman and still get a scholarship check for the summer.

Why wouldn't a logical post be accepted? The smack has always come from your side whenever a Griz athlete has had to get their grades up. It is refreshing to see someone such as yourself admit that it happens frequently at msu and is dealt with in the same manner. :thumb:

Like it's going to come from you?
And are you sure you don't know the answer to your first question? This is egriz, after all.
