Dave Christensen, ass't head coach and O coordinator (and O line coach) at Missouri, has made a visit to Laramie WY for a second interview for the job succeeding Joe Glenn as Cowboy football coach, and he's being touted as the likely successor. Mizzou has the Big 12 champ game this weekend, and a bowl game, someplace.

Christensen played at U of Washington, where he's been listed as a possible head coach.

He coached O and D lines at Eastern Washington 86-87, at Spokane Falls CC in 88, O line at Washington 89-90, and O line and TE and RB at Idaho State 90-91. In 1992, he hooked up with Gary Pinkel at Toldeo, and has coached with Pinkel since then, moving with him to Missouri in 1997. For the 2007 season he was making $197k as the assistant head coach/O coord. Don't know what he's making this year.

He's already taken the job and IS the new head coach at Wyoming. He will remain w/ Missouri through their bowl game then be in Laramie. He will assemble his staff leading up until then.

Pardon me for saying this but is he nuts?

I would imagine that a coordinator job at missouri is better htne a HC coach at a wyoming...

I agree with HB. This is a major coup by Wyoming. Obviously he really wanted to be a HC immediately.

ROFL

Or perhaps the coaches actually in the profession understand the opportunities that wyo provides to be successful and move up the ladder a lot more than the remote Montana fan does LOL.

Nah that can't be right can it????

One thing for certain, if he can succeed at Wyoming in a short amount of time it would say a lot. JG doesn't exactly leave big shoes to fill...

Hard to become a head coach without experience. Why not go to Wyoming and try to build something?
