Have I missed it? Any word on a new one for um? Are they waiting for after the legislative session is over? Who all has put their name in the hat?

I think they just got around to naming the search committee. Hopefully this is a ploy to keep Stearns as long as possible.

Likely the same crew that hired the last one. So far, the solution to declining enrollment seems to be to increase tuition and fees. Brilliant. The product declines in value because it is not adjusted to the times and does not yield the claimed return, so increase the cost. That will fix it. The swamp needs to be drained.

2 more....time to get her team.

Article in the missoulian about the Zags enrollment success from winning over the years...the brand.

HELLO

Has anyone heard anything about our spring enrollment numbers? I haven't seen anyone release anything on it. I know our new VP for enrollment services is expecting a 3% increase next year. Do any of you think that's possible?

Yes it is possible. I have heard from numerous sources that if this guy was in place years ago, we would not have been in this position. I heard very good things about him.

I recall a very thin pool of candidates last time around. Pay, rep, two critical issues to contend with. Not gonna be easy attracting A level talent.

Know Stearns a little bit, she is and has been proven leader/innovator. But she likely not too excited in long term

Have not seen any lists of prospectives.

Also have little confidence in many regents choosing, but the whole process is hamstrung by legislative thinking/action stuck in the past.

go Griz

Is Karl Tyler being considered? We need an outsider to shake things up, and he's sure done a nice job marketing with the University. I personally own at least 10 griz shirts with his logo on them.

Is Juneau still interested or was that just a rumour?

She may be interested, but sounds like a non starter from the Universities/Regents standpoint.

"The class curriculum is centered around students evaluating how they come to know truths in the world." You can't make this sh!t up; every employer is looking for credentials like this. Don't expect a fast recovery from UM.

THE chevy salesman! Karl Tyler Chevrolet is a well oiled machine, just a great establishment I think he'd do a great job. I don't think we'd be able to snag him out of the showroom or off the ranch though.

My recollection is that Engstrom was the only candidate left when they got around to hiring someone. The others dropped out for one reason or another.

I think you would be surprised to know how many employers are, indeed, looking for such qualities and have to go overseas to find qualified people.
