Has anyone heard anything new of any potential JC signings? If we are looking for a player who can knock down the 3 I believe James Doran from Sierra, CA is our guy. He is well built and has a knack for knocking down the open jumper. He is fairly stocky but plays pretty clever and is pretty smart with his decision making. I am not sure if we still have interest but could be a nice pick-up. Mo from CSI, I believe he was sent home because he is no longer on the CSI roster, he is a big wing with size but may have some baggage. I am not sure where he will re-locate, I don't know who listed him as a "combo guard" but he definitely is not one, he is a small forward who has a scoring and rebounding mentality. Could be a prospect to keep a close eye on however. Nik Raivio, the crafty guard of brother of Gonzaga player Derek, isn't available either after comitting to the University of Portland. I saw him play in Colorado last year and saw him this past summer at the West Coast Juco camp in Cypress, CA. A typical late bloomer story, very skilled guard who keeps improving. Plays point guard at 6'4" and continues to fill out, also has some nice hops (caught an alley oop at camp). Fun player to watch, I was impressed with his smooth game and ability to hit tough shots. He has a strong build, tough competitor and will be a big time sleeper at Portland (recently comitted). He had some Pac 10 and Mountain West interest which is surprising why he chose a lower level WCC school, he has a ton of upside and could do very well in the new Portland system, could be a player to keep an eye on. Another guard worth keeping an eye on is Jame McGuire of San Diego City College. A long and lanky guard capable of either back court position is crafty and can get to the bucket. His jumpshot must improve but he has a nice upside as well, not sure if there is any interest but also an intriguing prospect. He is about 6'4" but very skinny, however very athletic. His older brother is a junior at Fresno State.
