First of all congrats on your win. The hospitality of the city, hotel, restaurants, fans were superb. Many welcomed and thanks us for coming. The stadium and atmosphere was fantastic. I hope the best in your remaining games.

As far as the game. Our lack of depth show with our injuries to our QB and defense. Not making excuses but it would have been a much closer game.

Your match up with Portland will be interesting. That is were we lost 3 defensive starters in one game. We have not recovered from those injuries.

The Griz and Vikings should be a close game. I think both of your teams will make the playoffs along with the Eagles. maybe one other but not sure which other Big Sky team can step up.

Enjoy the rest of your season. You have a nice young QB.

Thanks 78. Glad you enjoyed your time in Missoula and were treated well. That's what college football is all about. Hope you found some great downtown bars!

Before the UND game, I had heard the GRIZ WR were super excited to have Simis be throwing them passes, now we see why. He throws the most catchable ball with pretty good accuracy. He also puts faith in his WR's to make the plays. Simis is a great thrower. His arm strength is a notch below Gustafson, but appears to be much more consistent in passing. He is also an athletic runner verses a scrambler. He looks equally comfortable running and throwing. To me, he is a playmaker!!! He also seems to have the hard to come by "IT" factor to his play and demeanor.
I went back and watched Brady in the UM/NDSU game. "Miscommunication" was the word used several times, as was "overthrown."

Comparing their respective first, starting games:

Brady. NDSU
30 pass completions out of 55 attempts, a 55% success rate. He put up great passing yardage at 434 yards, and averaged 14.4 yards per successful pass. He had three passes that resulted in touchdowns, 5.5% of his attempted pass total, 10% of his successful pass total. Rushing yards net, 4.
Makena. UND
16 pass completions out of 23 attempts, a 70% completion rate; averaging 20 yards per successful throw. Total, 323 yards. The six TD passes represented 26% of his total passing attempts and 38% of his successful passing efforts. Rushing yards net, 16.
Simis' longest pass was the third quarter' 74-yard bomb to Jones. Gustafson's was a 62 yard pass to Henderson.

Perhaps we have a QB problem looming? Kidding, right!

In any event we have a ton of QBs but until next time my vote sticks with Simis! Wow, he has the "it" factor.
