If Bobby weren't actually serious about developing Britt, Kris Brown would've been your QB2 today. He made that change, so why are we saying he wouldn't be willing to make other changes?

It took three humiliating and eventual season-ending losses to make that change. Read the bolded sentence again. Anybody with even a passing knowledge of football could see the difference in talent, heart and upside between Brown and Britt. Except apparently ANYONE on the coaching staff. Until it literally was too late. Hell, you could see it LAST year when Bobby gave up on Brown in the JMU game. Yet magically he was BACK as the backup this year…and then despite quarter after quarter of NAIA-level QB play, he sticks with him and loses 3 games in the process. Bobby’s unwillingness to properly develop Britt and get him game ready cost us 3 games this year. All winnable. But we go into Bozeman instead on a wing and a prayer, needed a victory to secure a playoff berth.

Would not surprise me in the least to see Britt, Bergen, Grossman, Fontes, and a couple others join Knight in the portal…to separate themselves from this shitshow and find a program that wants to use their talents instead of wasting away.
That's part of his development, though? I mean, I 100% agree that they should've played Britt at the very least against Weber, but don't forget that he was the first QB off the bench this season and was very up and down. He looks a lot better out there now than he did in the first game, which is probably to be expected because he's a R-Frosh. I haven't seen any practices, so I have no idea what he looked like. I just don't think it's unheard of that our R-Frosh QB was raw and not ready at the beginning of the year, started getting reps with the real offense once Johnson got hurt, and has now developed with that practice into a more capable #2 (in combination with the previous #2 not getting it done in games). It's entirely possible Britt was worse than Brown to start the year, but then got better. Players don't just develop in the offseason. There seems to be persistent push on here to always go straight to incompetence. Although everyone is mad and drunk right now, so they'll probably just say my take is stupid, anyway.

As for transfers, we're probably gonna see a lot this offseason just due to the covid extra eligibility (but so will a lot of schools). Hope we don't lose guys like you mentioned, though.

You know and I know that Bobby never gave Britt a shot. He brought in Johnson, anointed him as #1, and Brown went right back to #2. I could see it last year being on the field for warmups during ‘Scat/Griz that Britt had “it” and Brown didn’t. Go back and read my comments. If I (a pedestrian fan who never played the game) could see it, how does a seasoned coaching staff NOT see it? And why would it take them until literally the season is on the brink to make a change when it was apparent to the most casual observer that their chosen backup was NOT up to the task? And mind you, I’m not “blaming” Brown. This is squarely on Bobby, Rosenbach, Phenice, etc. for putting that poor kid in a position to fail, and them failing the whole team in the process.

Well, he's getting his shot now, and I'm super glad he is. There are sometimes guys that just don't practice well, and other that do (I honestly think Kris Brown is one of those players that plays well in practice, but not in games). I know it seems like all is lost, but I honestly see the switch to Britt as at least a small amount of hope that this staff needs to reevaluate their approach.

I've observed my fair share of practices. In those practices, Brown looks the part. He also looks the part, passing in drills. I honestly see, why coaches are enamored with him. I was guilty of it too. Unfortunately, this system and play calling aren't conducive to his skills. The system and his skill set aren't matching.

I have been saying the same thing...square peg round hole. This offense does not fit his skill set at all.

Kris Brown is a very capable qb. But he needs to be in the west coast offense or some kind of spread. He is not the RPO kind of player and I can't believe those two idiots rosy and pease put him out there to do that.
