Post-Game Report

With apologies to Brint, I'll handle the post game report today and I'll condense it down to six key areas:

1. Turnovers
2. Turnovers
3. Turnovers
4. Turnovers
5. Turnovers

And, oh yeah, I nearly forgot: Turnovers.

We out-gained weebs by 205 total yards, and gave up one drive (ONE!) of fifty yards or more, and still gave up 41. So, I guess maybe you cannot throw a pick in the EZ, throw a pick six, fumble once inside your own 4 and once inside their 4, and oh, throw another INT in there for shits and giggles and expect to win, then?

Everett. Could you be a little more specific?... :egriz:

What about the 2 targeting penalties that extended Weber drives and resulted in TD"s? Why are you picking on the turnovers? Ha.

This thread sums up this game to a tee. Take away the turnovers and we basically kicked the shit out of them.

Speaking of kicking...UM needs a kicker, badly.

Stats are stats. The fact is this game was over in the middle of the second quarter and everything that happened after that, is irrelevant (although it may pad the stats line.) They got some good breaks; we got some bad ones; and they basically kicked our ass. 'Nuf said.

I agree. It is amusing how any Griz fan can find positives in the dismal way we achieved being down 34-6 by halftime, but losing by "only 14". The game was over at halftime. How many teams come back to win a game from 28 points down at halftime?

I find it amusing that Griz fans grip about the "stats" when we win and give up 500 yards, but insist that "everything that happens" after the game is in hand is irrelevant when we lose.

Maybe we can just get over the whole obsession with yardage thing and understand that's not what wins or loses football games? You wanna obsess about turnovers, now there's something to sink your teeth into....oh, and target penalties, PR.

I remember stats class with Gianchetta and discussing a problem with a rediculous conclusion and irrelevant variables. I concluded that sometimes stats provide things that aren’t the truth. Larry responded exactly, you need to have the best information before using the information. In this case yardage is irrelevant.

I agree and only teams playing a Semore defense have a chance down that much at half

And a kick off return man with a lot of speed.

We have two of them. We need a kickoff unit that can actually block someone.

Hmm I wonder who is a good st coach ????

I said it before, I think Weber is the best team in the conference. With the bye week to prepare, I thought UM would give them a run for their money, but the TO’s just snowballed on the frosh QB. Bottom line, Weber is a very good team.

Didn't get to see the game (went to Frenchtown's game where they won,of course) did Eaton run to the the 1st wave and almost stop and try to dance?

No, he ran to the 15 and fumbled. The ensuing kickoff hit him in the numbers and bounced to the 3 yd line where it was thankfully picked up by our other deep man. After that, they put Toure back, with less than impressive results.

You would think that as much as we have been scored on that our return team would be fabulous with all that practice.
