Poor Bobcats

Honest observation…..that was their best chance to win a chipper in 40 years. I’d say 95% of their fan base thought it was going to be a win for sure. Most coaches and analysts picked the cats to win too. Losing Mellott will be way bigger impact than any of them realize. He’s a generational talent that can’t simply be replaced. When do they have another shot? I think it will be a long while.

I think it is going to be very interesting to see how they go forward without Mellott. He was not just their QB, but their heart and soul and engine.

I keep wondering if Vigen will end up regretting signing another contract instead of trying to get a FBS gig this year. Will he get a better chance in the future? I'm not so sure.

Just have to wonder how many Cat players "portal" when the next window opens. Vigen stays because his two sons are on the team but in a couple more years he is probably gone. Tough sledding ahead for the Cats.

Absolutely, all of them have been talking as if it was a done deal! Bison had other ideas……as I’ve said before, this Bobcat team is a 4 or 5 loss team at best this year without Mellott. His will kept them in the game tonight, Bison were much better at most other positions.

Unfortunately in this version of the FCS it will probably be in the near future.

Which makes our lack of reaching semis other than one year baffling, alarming, disappointing, and unacceptable.

I work with a diehard Shi##y Kitty, good guy, but he definitively and arrogantly told me a week ago that his SK's were going to roll The NDSU Bison and I told him, " No, I don't think so !"

I can't wait to see him so I can ask him, " Hank, how about them Bison ?" and then ask him for painful self-reflection on why Touchdown Tommy finished his career 0-3 against NDSU, including two national championships.

If I say I am going to enjoy this, does that make me a bad person ?

Nah - just means you enjoy schadenfreude. 😅

It remains to be seen what happens in Bozeman but I really like the team and coaching staff in Missoula against MSU or anyone else in the conference moving forward.

i think they are going to miss their oc. he figured out how to use mellott very successfully, in terms of play-calling. granted, mellott was a hell of a weapon, but without a somewhat unique play calling plan, i don't know that they utilize him as well as they did.
